Job Overview
We are looking for a Full Stack Lead Engineer to spearhead the technical evolution of Wizcart.
This is a high-impact leadership role where you will bridge the gap between business
requirements and technical execution. You will be responsible for the architecture, scalability,
and deployment of a sophisticated marketplace platform that connects service providers with
customers in real-time.
As the Lead Engineer, you will oversee the development of complex features, ensuring the
platform remains robust as we scale across North America.
Key Responsibilities
• Architecture & Leadership: Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of scalable
full-stack features using Node.js and React/React Native.
• System Design: Architect complex process flows, high-priority service delivery systems.
• Infrastructure Management: Own the cloud ecosystem on AWS, managing containerized
environments via Kubernetes and Docker to ensure 99.9% uptime.
• Database Strategy: Optimize PostgreSQL schemas for high performance, ensuring data
integrity for financial transactions, tax compliance, and referral systems.
• Technical Documentation: Translate high-level business requirement documents (BRDs)
into granular technical specifications and execution steps for the engineering team.
• Mentorship: Conduct code reviews and mentor mid-level developers, fostering a culture
of technical excellence and rapid iteration.
• Integration: Oversee the integration of third-party APIs, mapping/location services etc.
Technical Qualification
• Experience: 8–10 years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
• Backend: Expert proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript. Deep experience with RESTful and
GraphQL API design.
• Frontend & Mobile: Advanced knowledge of React (Web) and React Native (iOS/Android)
for building seamless, responsive user interfaces.
• Database: Mastery of PostgreSQL, including complex queries, indexing, and performance
tuning.
• DevOps & Cloud: Extensive experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda). Hands-on
expertise in Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Tooling: Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.
Soft Skills and Requirements
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to map out "Steps" and "Process flows" for complex business
logic without losing sight of the user experience.
• Communication: Comfortable communicating with executive leadership and core
stakeholders to align technical roadmaps with business goals.
• Marketplace Experience: Previous experience building marketplace facilitators or
FinTech platforms is a significant plus.
• Problem Solver: Proven ability to handle "ad-hoc" technical challenges and pivot quickly
in a fast-paced startup environment.
