Must-Have Skills
Banking Domain (Payments/Corporate)
Minimum 5 years in BFSI domain (mandatory). Should have built or contributed to retail/corporate banking apps, payments gateways, or workflow automation platforms with familiarity in compliance, data flows, and approval chains.
React.js
Must have integration-level understanding (Forms, Hooks, API calls, reusable components). Candidate should have worked in teams consuming backend services, not just UI prototyping.
Node.js (Advanced)
Strong expertise in asynchronous handling, Promise.allSettled, event loop, error handling, API design, and service orchestration. Should have handled high-volume data operations and JSON-based payload transformations.
Kafka
Hands-on in implementing Kafka producers, consumers, DLQ, retries, message replay. Should be able to articulate why Kafka was used over alternatives. Should show aptitude and curiosity even if not expert. Past troubleshooting experience in async failures is important.
Docker + Kubernetes
Experience in using Docker for container packaging, and Kubernetes for coordination, scaling, and issue-resolution. Must understand pod health, rolling updates, and how to engage DevOps teams to fix common issues.
CI/CD Tools (Dev-level)
Hands-on use of GitLab/GitHub Actions, code-quality tools like Sonar, ESLint, Checkmarx, and deployment practices using Docker@EC2 or AWS Lambda. Should understand promotion, rollback, linting pipelines.
API Gateway
Must have implemented or contributed to routing, rate-limiting, header validation, authentication via tools like Kong, Apigee, AWS Gateway.
OAuth (Gateway + IDP)
Must have implemented end-to-end OAuth2 flow with Gateway and IDP integration (Okta preferred) including token refresh, revocation, and protecting API endpoints.
