We're looking for a Software Engineer who enjoys building products end-to-end, takes ownership of their work, and thrives in an early-stage startup environment where speed and execution matter
Role Overview:
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining product features across the stack. You will work closely with the product, design, and leadership teams to translate ideas into scalable and intuitive user experiences.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, shipping products quickly, and contributing beyond their immediate scope when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain scalable web applications and product features.
- Develop clean, efficient, and reusable code across the front end and back end.
- Collaborate with designers and product stakeholders to deliver intuitive user experiences.
- Integrate APIs, third-party services, and internal systems.
- Participate in system architecture and technical decision-making.
- Write and maintain documentation for product features and engineering workflows.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs.
- Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support product launches and iterations.
- Contribute to improving development processes and technical standards.
- Should be able to handle a team of Interns.
Requirements
Technical Skills:
- AI & LLM Engineering: Hands-on experience building production AI applications using LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Ollama), prompt engineering, function/tool calling, structured outputs, RAG, embeddings, vector search, model routing, AI agents, MCP, and streaming architectures.
- Backend Development: Strong expertise in Python (3.11+), FastAPI, AsyncIO, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, Alembic, Celery, Redis, REST APIs, WebSockets, and asynchronous/background processing.
- Frontend Development: Experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, ShadCN, React Query, Zustand, and modern component-based UI architectures.
- AI Frameworks: Proficiency with one or more frameworks such as Pydantic AI, LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, or LlamaIndex.
- Databases: Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, Redis, SQLite, vector databases (pgvector), and graph databases such as Neo4j (preferred).
- Containers & Cloud: Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, containerised deployments, AWS (EC2, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, Route53), Linux administration, and scalable cloud infrastructure.
- DevOps & Infrastructure: Knowledge of Nginx, reverse proxies, SSL, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/TeamCity), Docker registries, zero-downtime deployments, monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana), logging, and performance optimisation.
- Search & Automation: Experience with web crawling, browser automation, Playwright, Crawl4AI, and asynchronous scraping.
- Security & Authentication: Strong understanding of JWT, OAuth, API security, session management, RBAC, and secure application design.
Good to have:
- 2–3 years of experience in software engineering or full-stack development.
- Strong understanding of modern web development principles and best practices.
- Experience working with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
- Familiarity with databases and backend development concepts.
- Understanding of version control systems such as Git.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
