About the Role
Successful candidates are expected to contribute meaningfully from the outset through structured problem-solving, AI-assisted software development, analytical reasoning, rapid iteration, strong execution capability, and ownership of real engineering tasks.
You'll contribute across projects involving:
- AI-assisted product development
- Internal platform engineering
- Catalogue growth systems
- Workflow automation
- API integrations
- Operational tooling
- AI-powered business workflows
- Data quality and structured data systems
- Debugging production issues
- Business process optimisation
- Internal dashboards and reporting
- Scalable automation and AI-enabled operational infrastructure
Most work begins with a genuine business problem rather than a predefined technical task. You'll work alongside our engineering team to understand how a workflow operates, identify bottlenecks, design a solution, implement it using modern development workflows, validate the implementation, and ensure it performs reliably within production.
Projects frequently span multiple parts of our platform, including databases, backend services, APIs, frontend applications, automation workflows, and operational tooling.
This role reflects the increasing convergence of software engineering, AI, automation, analytics, operational systems, and commercial execution within modern technology businesses.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for exceptional software engineers who use modern AI-powered workflows as a core part of how they develop software and solve problems.
This role is not designed for candidates who are simply interested in AI or experimenting with ChatGPT.
We're looking for engineers who have already demonstrated their ability to leverage AI to build useful software, automate workflows, contribute to production systems, or solve complex technical problems significantly faster and more effectively than traditional development workflows.
Strong candidates will typically demonstrate:
- A proven track record of building useful software, automation projects, AI-powered applications, SaaS products, or technical solutions outside of formal coursework.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong logical reasoning and analytical thinking.
- The ability to learn independently and become productive quickly.
- High ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Comfort operating within fast-moving, high-expectation environments.
Candidates should already have practical experience using modern AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-assisted engineering environments.
We're specifically looking for individuals who understand how to:
- Build software using AI-assisted development workflows.
- Structure prompts that consistently produce high-quality technical outcomes.
- Read, understand, validate, and improve AI-generated code.
- Debug AI-generated implementations when they don't behave as expected.
- Navigate and contribute to existing codebases rather than only creating isolated personal projects.
- Break complex business problems into structured implementation plans.
- Test, validate, and refine solutions before deployment.
Candidates should also be comfortable working with collaborative software development workflows, including:
- Git and GitHub
- Branching strategies
- Pull requests
- Code reviews
- Working across existing repositories
- Understanding software change history
Experience building full-stack applications using technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, React, Next.js, Node.js, SQL, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and modern web frameworks is highly advantageous.
More importantly, we're looking for engineers who are AI-native—individuals who already leverage AI coding assistants as a core part of how they design, build, debug, and ship reliable software.
You should be comfortable rapidly learning unfamiliar technologies, understanding existing codebases, reasoning through complex technical problems, and delivering production-ready solutions with the assistance of AI rather than relying solely on memorised syntax.

Recruitment Process
Our recruitment process is designed to assess how candidates think, build, communicate, and solve real engineering problems.
As the final stage of the recruitment process, shortlisted candidates will complete a five-day paid work trial, during which they'll work on real engineering tasks while receiving structured onboarding and support from our team.
Successful candidates will receive an offer to join Babaclick as a Full-Stack Software Engineer (AI-Native).
