About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Product team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, developing, and scaling our platform to meet the evolving needs of our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, a passion for innovation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, data scientists, product managers, and quality assurance teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and efficient software solutions. Your expertise will help us enhance our product capabilities and ensure a seamless user experience across all platforms.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of 5+ years of experience in web application development using MVC frameworks such as Rails, Entity, or Spring. A strong background in working with SQL databases, particularly Postgres and RDS, is essential. Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript for building Single-Page Applications with frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue is required, along with extensive experience in HTML, CSS, and responsive web design. Candidates should have at least 3+ years of experience translating wireframes or mockups into semantic, performant, and responsive HTML and CSS. Familiarity with Git and Github for source control, as well as experience with charting libraries like Chart.js, Highcharts, or D3, is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills, the ability to learn quickly, and experience working within agile teams are crucial. Leadership qualities or ambitions are a plus, as is experience with large datasets and building scalable frontend architectures.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and enhance scalable web applications and features.
- Translate wireframes, mockups, and specifications into clean, semantic, and responsive HTML and CSS code.
- Develop and maintain robust backend services using Ruby, Rails, Node.js, and related technologies.
- Optimize application performance on both client and server sides, ensuring fast load times and efficient data handling.
- Build and improve frontend architectures, considering HTTP requests, SQL queries, and memory management for scalability.
- Implement and integrate data visualization components using charting libraries such as Chart.js, Highcharts, or D3.
- Participate actively in agile development processes, including sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure code quality through rigorous testing, continuous integration, and deployment practices.
- Contribute to the evaluation and experimentation with new technologies and tools to improve product capabilities.
- Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, innovative team environment.
