Overview
We are seeking an expert Senior SDE to lead the architecture and development of our next-generation real-time analytics dashboard. You will be responsible for building a low-latency, globally distributed system that turns billions of data points into actionable insights using a modern stack centered around Next.js, edge computing, and high-performance SQL.
Core Responsibilities- System Architecture: Lead the design of a distributed system capable of handling high-velocity data ingestion and sub-second query execution for real-time visualization.
- Next.js & Edge Strategy: Architect the frontend using Next.js (App Router) and Edge Functions (Vercel/Cloudflare) to push logic to the network edge, minimizing latency for a global user base.
- API & Data Flow: Design and maintain robust GraphQL and REST APIs. Implement WebSockets or Server-Sent Events (SSE) for "push-based" real-time dashboard updates.
- Database & SQL Optimization: Design complex SQL schemas optimized for analytical workloads (OLAP). You will be responsible for query tuning, indexing strategies, and managing time-series data at scale.
- Global Caching: Implement a multi-tier caching strategy using Redis and Edge Caching to handle high-concurrency traffic without overwhelming the primary database.
- DevOps & Reliability: Own the CI/CD lifecycle using GitHub Actions/Terraform. Ensure system observability through structured logging and real-time monitoring (Prometheus/Datadog).
- Performance Engineering: Optimize Core Web Vitals and browser rendering for data-heavy charts and interactive visualizations.
- Real-time Data Orchestration: Architect end-to-end pipelines that ingest real-time datasets and propagate updates to the UI with minimal "glass-to-glass" latency.
- Dynamic Metrics Engine: Build systems to calculate complex metrics (e.g., P99 latencies, rolling retention, or heatmaps) on the fly using SQL window functions and materialized views.
- High-Performance Visualization: Develop interactive analytics charts (Line, Bar, Sankey, Scatter) using libraries like D3.js, ECharts, or Visx, ensuring smooth 60fps interactions even with large datasets.
- State & Stream Management: Implement advanced state management to handle live-streaming data without unnecessary re-renders, utilizing React Server Components for initial snapshots and WebSockets/SSE for deltas.
- Edge Analytics: Use Edge Networking to pre-aggregate data or filter noise before it reaches the core database, reducing storage costs and improving query speed.
Experience & Qualifications- 3+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
- 3+ years of experience specifically with Next.js and modern DevOps workflows.
- Proven track record of shipping data-intensive applications or analytics dashboards.
- Deep understanding of the TCP/IP stack, HTTP/3, and browser rendering pipelines.
