About REVERSE
REVERSE is a cleantech platform building India’s packaging reuse infrastructure. We work across collection, sorting, sanitization, reverse logistics, and digital traceability to help brands reuse packaging instead of sending it for unnecessary recycling or disposal.
We are looking for a Full Stack Developer who can help us build and improve our internal technology systems, operational dashboards, APIs, databases, and workflow tools. This role is ideal for an early-career developer who wants hands-on exposure to building real-world systems in a fast-growing sustainability startup.
Role Overview
The selected candidate will work on REVERSE’s core platform and internal tools used for tracking packaging movement, inventory, sanitization records, dispatches, return-and-reward flows, and operational reporting. The role will also provide exposure to AI-enabled sorting systems and automation initiatives, while working closely with the founder, operations team, and technology advisors.
Must-Have Skills
- Hands-on knowledge of full-stack development.
- Experience with frontend and backend development.
- Understanding of API development and API integration.
- Working knowledge of databases, preferably SQL or NoSQL.
- Familiarity with Git/version control.
- Ability to debug, test, and improve existing code.
- Willingness to work in a fast-moving startup environment.
Preferred Skills
- React.js, Node.js, Express.js, Python, Firebase, GCP, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies.
- Experience building dashboards, admin panels, workflow tools, or internal applications.
- Basic exposure to cloud deployment.
- Interest in AI, automation, computer vision, sustainability, or supply-chain technology.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full Stack Development
- Build and maintain web applications, internal tools, and operational dashboards for REVERSE’s reuse operations.
- Work on frontend and backend development for modules related to inventory, collection, sanitization, dispatch, and reporting.
- Improve existing workflows and build new features based on operational requirements.
2. Backend, APIs & Integrations
- Develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs.
- Integrate APIs across internal systems, partner workflows, dashboards, and third-party tools where required.
- Support data flow between different modules such as collection, sorting, sanitization, rewards, and dispatch tracking.
3. Database Management
- Design, maintain, and update databases for operational records, user activity, packaging movement, inventory, and transaction logs.
- Ensure structured, clean, and secure data handling.
- Write queries and support data extraction for dashboards and reports.
4. Return & Reward System
- Support development of REVERSE’s Return & Reward system, including user participation tracking, packaging return records, reward logic, and redemption flows.
- Build basic admin interfaces and backend logic to support community return campaigns and brand-linked reuse programs.
5. Dashboards & Reporting
- Build dashboards for internal teams, operations, partners, and management review.
- Enable visibility into key metrics such as collection volumes, reusable packaging inventory, reuse cycles, dispatches, and operational performance.
- Support reporting requirements for internal reviews, grants, investors, and brand partners.
6. AI & Automation Exposure
- Support integration of AI/computer vision outputs into internal tools and dashboards.
- Work with senior advisors and technology consultants to understand automation workflows for sorting and inspection systems.
- Assist in building basic interfaces for reviewing classification outputs, operational exceptions, and manual validation.
- Get hands-on exposure to automation initiatives while contributing to the supporting software layer.
7. Cloud, Deployment & Maintenance
- Assist in deploying and maintaining applications on cloud platforms such as Firebase, GCP, or similar environments.
- Support testing, debugging, version control, and basic performance improvements.
- Help maintain system reliability and improve usability of internal tools.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, growth, and leadership teams to understand field challenges and convert them into simple product features.
- Take ownership of assigned modules and improve systems based on real-world feedback.
- Maintain basic documentation for code, APIs, workflows, and system updates.
