Job Roles & Responsibilities
- Own P2 tickets for customers who can code but are blocked by: Bugs, integration issues, refactoring needs, performance/latency problems, deployment failures, etc.
- Deep‑dive into customer codebases generated on Emergent and:
- Read and understand unfamiliar code quickly
- Identify root causes and implement robust fixes
- Refactor code when needed to improve stability and maintainability
- Work across the full stack: Frontend (React), Backend (primarily Python; Node.js/Go/JS exposure is a plus), Databases (SQL)
- Handle a wide range of app types: from simple to‑do apps to CRMs and more complex internal tools.
- Collaborate with internal teams to: Reproduce and triage issues and Improve playbooks, runbooks, and internal tooling for faster resolution
- Follow and improve QA practices:
- Write and execute test cases (SIT, smoke, regression, basic security checks)
- Validate fixes in staging/UAT before handing over to customers
- Communicate clearly with non‑technical and semi‑technical users (via internal teams or directly) about: What broke, why it broke, and how it was fixed.
- Contribute feedback and patterns back to Emergent’s AI agent teams to reduce future ticket volume
Ideal candidate profile
• Bachelor in Computer Science or Mathematics & Computing from Tier II college
• 3+ years of professional fullstack development experience
• 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Python, Node.js, NestJS, JavaScript, React Native, etc with strong proficiency
• 3+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• Can do thorough QA - knows & have done SIT, Smoke test, VAPT, UAT
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience with RESTful API design and communication
• Experience with both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases, including schema design
• Working knowledge of user authentication and authorization principles and implementation
• Familiarity with Firebase authentication and JWT
