Full Stack Developer (Backend-Heavy)
Devsatva LLP · Ahmedabad, Gujarat (Hybrid) · Full-time · 1–3 years experience
About Devsatva
Devsatva is an Ahmedabad-based data engineering and AI consultancy building production-grade data pipelines, agentic AI systems, MCP servers, e-commerce automation, and analytics platforms for clients including Singapore Airlines, Unilever India, and Billabong High Gurugram. We ship real systems for real teams — no vaporware, no theater.
The Role
We're hiring a full stack developer whose center of gravity is the backend. You'll design and own the services, data models, APIs, and background pipelines that power our client platforms — and you'll build the frontends that expose them, without needing a separate UI specialist for every screen. Expect a 70/30 split: heavy backend and systems work in Node.js and Python, with clean, functional React on top when the product needs it.
What you'll actually do
- Design and build backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs in Node.js/TypeScript (Express, Fastify, or NestJS) and/or Python (FastAPI, Django, Flask)
- Build data-heavy and AI-adjacent Python services — LLM orchestration, embeddings pipelines, scraping and ETL workers, scheduled reporting jobs
- Model relational schemas in PostgreSQL — indexing, migrations, query optimization, sensible constraints
- Build background workers, queues, and cron pipelines (BullMQ, Celery/RQ, Cloud Tasks) for long-running and scheduled jobs
- Integrate third-party APIs — payment gateways, e-commerce marketplaces, CRMs, LLM providers, analytics — with proper auth, retries, idempotency, and observability
- Build React (Next.js preferred) frontends for admin panels, dashboards, and client-facing tools — clean, accessible, and shippable, not pixel-perfect
- Own features end-to-end: schema → API → worker → UI → deploy → monitor
- Write tests where they matter, docs a teammate can pick up cold, and PRs that get merged the same day
Must-have
- 2–4 years shipping production backend systems (not tutorials, not college projects)
- Strong proficiency in at least one of Node.js/TypeScript or Python, with working comfort in the other — including async patterns, error handling, and framework fluency
- Python fundamentals — virtualenv/poetry, typing, async (asyncio), and at least one production web framework (FastAPI, Django, or Flask)
- Solid PostgreSQL — joins, indexes, transactions, migrations; can explain a query plan
- REST API design — versioning, pagination, auth (JWT, OAuth 2.0), rate limiting, webhooks, idempotency
- Working React knowledge — hooks, state management, component composition, TypeScript on the frontend
- Git-based workflow (branching, PRs, code review) and Linux command line comfort
- Clear written English for docs, PRs, and client-facing tickets
Nice-to-have
- Next.js (App Router), Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui
- Redis for caching, sessions, and queue backends
- Docker and basic container workflows; comfort deploying to Cloud Run, ECS, or similar
- Google Cloud Platform or AWS (Cloud Functions/Lambda, Cloud Run/ECS, Cloud SQL/RDS, Pub/Sub/SQS, IAM basics)
- Experience with LLM/vector stack — OpenAI/Anthropic/Gemini APIs, LangChain, LlamaIndex, embeddings, pgvector, Qdrant, or Pinecone
- Data / pipeline familiarity — pandas, Polars, Prefect, Airflow, or dbt
- Exposure to MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers or agentic tooling
- CI/CD (GitHub Actions), observability (Sentry, OpenTelemetry, Grafana/Prometheus), and log-based debugging
- Kafka, event-driven architectures, or CDC pipelines
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS patterns — row-level security, tenant isolation, quota enforcement
What we offer
- Meaningful ownership of production systems from day one
- Direct exposure to enterprise clients — the technical decisions you make land in front of real users
- Mentorship from senior data and AI engineers, and room to grow into a lead role
- Competitive salary aligned with experience
- Hybrid work from our Ahmedabad office
