Role Overview
Welsbach is seeking a highly capable Full Stack Developer to design, build, and scale production-grade internal systems used by senior investment professionals.
This role sits at the intersection of finance, software engineering, and artificial intelligence. You will work directly with leadership, bankers, and analysts to translate complex transaction workflows into scalable, secure, and intelligent technology systems.
A key part of this role involves building AI-enabled platforms and autonomous workflows that support financial research, document intelligence, transaction analysis, and decision support across capital markets activities.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have hands-on experience developing AI-powered applications, intelligent automation systems, or agent-based workflows in production environments.
Key Responsibilities
Application Development & Architecture
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end web applications across frontend and backend.
- Build scalable, secure, high-performance systems used across research, analytics, and internal operations.
- Own architectural decisions with a focus on long-term maintainability and performance.
- Manage deployments, monitoring, and continuous improvement of production systems.
AI & Data Systems Development
You will play a central role in integrating artificial intelligence into real financial workflows.
This includes building and deploying:
- Automated data extraction and processing pipelines.
- LLM-powered workflows for research, summarization, and document analysis.
- Intelligent dashboards and decision-support systems.
- AI-enabled tools that work across structured and unstructured capital markets datasets.
Additional responsibilities:
- Contributing to the development of AI-powered internal assistants and agent-based workflows that help automate research, analysis, and document review.
- Designing systems that allow teams to interact with complex financial data through natural language interfaces and intelligent workflows.
- Integrating modern AI capabilities into production applications in a reliable and scalable way.
- Continuously improving model reliability, accuracy, and usability within live environments.
- Contributing to the development of AI-powered internal assistants and agent-based workflows using modern large language model ecosystems, including platforms such as OpenCLAW and other model orchestration environments.
Collaboration & Business Integration
- Work closely with senior leadership and investment banking teams to understand transaction workflows.
- Translate complex advisory problems into clear technical architectures.
- Partner across functions to deliver solutions from concept to deployment.
- Provide structured input on feasibility, timelines, and system trade-offs.
Platform Reliability & Security
- Ensure high standards of performance, security, and data privacy.
- Implement appropriate access controls, auditability, and best practices for financial services environments.
- Proactively identify technical risks and system bottlenecks.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Strong foundation in software engineering and data systems
Professional Experience
- 3+ years building and maintaining production-grade full stack applications.
- Demonstrated experience deploying and scaling live systems.
- Experience integrating AI or machine learning capabilities into production software environments.
- Exposure to building AI-powered applications, intelligent automation workflows, or systems that incorporate large language models is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
Full Stack
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript.
- Frontend frameworks: React, Next.js, or equivalent.
- Backend development using Node.js, Python, or similar.
- API design (REST / GraphQL).
- Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or equiv
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Experience deploying on AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Familiarity with CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and system reliability
AI & Data
- Hands-on experience working with modern AI systems or machine learning tools.
- Understanding of concepts such as prompt engineering, embeddings, and knowledge retrieval systems.
- Experience working with data processing tools and large datasets.
- Ability to embed AI capabilities into real business workflows and production software environments.
- Experience or familiarity with AI agents, intelligent automation systems, or AI-assisted decision tools is a strong advantage.
