About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join ZenSciences' dynamic web development team. This role is pivotal in driving the technical execution of web projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and performance-optimized websites. The ideal candidate will possess a strong agency-side background with comprehensive expertise in PHP, WordPress, and CMS-based platforms, along with a robust understanding of modern frontend technologies.
The Senior Full Stack Developer will take ownership of end-to-end development workflows, including architecture design, deployment, hosting coordination, troubleshooting, and technical feasibility assessments. This role demands a hands-on approach, combining technical proficiency with strategic thinking to support project success and team growth. Collaboration with project managers, account managers, UI/UX designers, SEO specialists, and external vendors will be integral to ensuring seamless project execution and client satisfaction. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have at least 7+ years of experience in web development, specifically with CMS-based platforms and agency-side projects. Proven experience in managing full website development lifecycles from conception to deployment is essential. Strong expertise in PHP, WordPress, Laravel, and frontend fundamentals such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap is required. Additionally, a solid understanding of hosting environments, deployment workflows, and server management—particularly with cPanel, Plesk, AWS Lightsail/EC2, Cloudways, Hostinger, and DigitalOcean—is necessary.
The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in technical SEO, website performance optimization, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are vital for working effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors. A proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to code quality will thrive in this role.
Responsibilities
Full Stack Development & Technical Execution
- Lead end-to-end development across WordPress, Core PHP, Laravel, and CMS-driven web platforms.
- Develop custom themes, plugins, and modules to meet project requirements.
- Implement frontend features using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap to create responsive and user-friendly interfaces.
- Build scalable, performance-oriented, and SEO-friendly websites that align with client goals.
- Troubleshoot bugs, technical issues, and production-level problems efficiently.
- Ensure high standards of code quality, maintainability, and performance optimization.
Technical Ownership & Delivery
- Take ownership of ongoing and new web development projects, ensuring timely delivery.
- Collaborate closely with project managers and account teams to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Support architecture discussions, technical planning, and feasibility assessments to guide project direction.
- Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices for technical quality.
- Manage staging, deployment, and go-live processes to ensure seamless website launches.
- Assist in project estimation, effort planning, and resource allocation.
CMS, Hosting & Server Management
- Manage hosting environments using cPanel, Plesk, AWS Lightsail/EC2, Cloudways, Hostinger, and DigitalOcean.
- Coordinate deployment workflows, DNS configurations, SSL setups, backups, and restorations.
- Handle website migrations from staging to live environments and troubleshoot uptime issues.
- Optimize website performance through caching, CDN integration, and other best practices.
Technical SEO & Web Performance
- Ensure websites are built with strong technical SEO foundations.
- Collaborate with SEO teams on crawlability, indexing, Core Web Vitals, schema markup, and page speed enhancements.
- Implement and support SEO and performance optimization strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with project management, UI/UX designers, content teams, and external vendors.
- Communicate technical feasibility and implementation strategies effectively to internal and client teams.
- Support pre-sales activities and technical pitches as needed.
Team Building & Technical Leadership
- Establish development best practices and coding standards to ensure consistency and quality.
- Support the hiring and onboarding of new developers.
- Contribute to building and scaling the internal web technology team.
- Act as a technical backbone, providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
Tools & Platforms
- Proficiency with WordPress, PHP, Laravel, and optionally Drupal.
- Experience with MySQL, Git/version control, and cloud hosting platforms.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and project collaboration tools.
