About Us
Carrier Compliance Services Inc. is a reputable Canadian transportation safety and compliance consultancy dedicated to serving approximately 40 carrier clients across North America. Our mission is to streamline and enhance the compliance workflows within the trucking industry through innovative technology solutions. Currently, we are developing Steer Fleet TMS, a cutting-edge multi-tenant B2B SaaS platform designed to replace manual compliance processes. This platform manages driver qualification files, document expiry tracking, vehicle maintenance schedules, carrier safety monitoring, and regulatory compliance for cross-border fleets operating in Canada and the US. Our commitment to quality and efficiency drives us to deliver reliable, scalable, and user-friendly solutions that meet the evolving needs of the transportation sector.
About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to join our dynamic team, working on an existing, live Next.js 14 codebase. In this role, you will collaborate closely with other developers, product managers, and stakeholders to implement new features and improve existing functionalities. Your primary focus will be on building robust full-stack features, ensuring they align with our architectural standards and best practices. You will be responsible for translating detailed task specifications into high-quality code, maintaining consistency across the platform, and contributing innovative ideas to enhance our product. We value developers who take pride in writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code, and who are proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development with a minimum of 10 years of overall experience. Specific qualifications include at least 5 years of hands-on experience within the React ecosystem, with mandatory expertise in Next.js App Router. You should have extensive proficiency in TypeScript, with strict mode enabled and no tolerance for 'any' types. Additionally, you must have at least 5 years of experience working with PostgreSQL, especially in designing complex multi-tenant schemas, optimizing queries, and managing migrations. Experience with ORMs such as Prisma is strongly preferred, though Sequelize or TypeORM are acceptable. You should also have a solid background in building and consuming REST APIs, along with a strong understanding of Git workflows, including feature branching and pull request discipline. Other essential skills include expertise in Ant Design 5, TanStack Query v5, CSS fundamentals, and experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and AI API integrations.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include developing and maintaining full-stack features using Next.js 14 App Router and TypeScript, ensuring seamless integration with our PostgreSQL database through Prisma ORM queries. You will design and implement multi-tenant REST API routes with proper data scoping, ensuring data security and integrity. Building intuitive UI components exclusively with Ant Design 5 will be a key part of your role, along with creating background jobs for expiry reminders and scheduled reports utilizing BullMQ and Redis. You will also be responsible for integrating AWS S3 for secure document storage and Resend for transactional email delivery. Writing clean, maintainable TypeScript code in strict mode is essential, and all work must be submitted via GitHub Pull Requests with clear, plain-English summaries. Responding promptly to code review feedback within 24 hours and actively participating in CI/CD pipeline maintenance through GitHub Actions and Docker are integral to your role. Additionally, you will collaborate with the team to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and contribute ideas for system enhancements.
Benefits
Carrier Compliance Services Inc. offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your professional and personal growth. You will have access to competitive compensation, health and dental insurance, and retirement savings plans. We promote a flexible work environment with opportunities for remote work and flexible hours to help you maintain work-life balance. Our company encourages continuous learning and development, providing resources and opportunities to attend industry conferences, training sessions, and certifications. You will be part of a collaborative and innovative team that values your contributions and fosters a culture of transparency, respect, and mutual support. Additionally, you will have the chance to work on impactful projects that significantly improve compliance workflows within the transportation industry, offering both professional fulfillment and career advancement opportunities.
