About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team at Luxoft. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and scaling backend services for a high throughput, low latency platform that demands strict reliability and auditability. You will own the end-to-end delivery process, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and DevOps to ensure seamless integration and deployment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex distributed systems, leverage cloud technologies, and contribute to innovative solutions that impact global clients.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over 7 years of professional experience in backend development with Java, demonstrating deep expertise in core Java, Collections, Concurrency, Streams, and JVM internals. Strong proficiency with the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring Data, and Spring Security is essential, with understanding of Spring Cloud being a plus. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience with Angular for frontend integration and exposure to Python for tooling and automation tasks. Proven expertise with PostgreSQL, including indexing strategies, query optimization, and transaction management, is required. Hands-on experience deploying and operating production services on AWS—such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, S3, and messaging services—is critical. A solid understanding of API design principles, observability practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code is also necessary. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate ambiguous requirements into actionable technical plans are vital for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement microservices and event-driven components in Java (preferably Java 17+), ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards.
- Model and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and transactions to maximize performance and data integrity.
- Build resilient, observable services on AWS platforms such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS/Aurora, MSK/Kinesis, and IAM, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, leveraging tools like GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity and code quality.
- Ensure system reliability and scalability through the application of resilience patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, idempotency, and backpressure mechanisms.
- Implement security and compliance controls, including authentication/authorization, secrets management, IAM policies, and encryption at rest and in transit.
- Own production operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to maintain optimal system health.
- Participate in architecture decisions, conduct code reviews, and uphold engineering standards to ensure high-quality deliverables.
