JOB OVERVIEW

The Technical Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality technical training within an aviation Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) environment, with a focus on engine modules and core maintenance fundamentals. This role ensures technicians develop the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to meet operational and regulatory standards.  

Responsibilities:

  • Training Development & Delivery:
  • Deliver andfacilitateclassroom instruction, workshops, and hands-on technical training focused on engine components and core maintenance modules. 
  • Prepare and manage the training environment, ensuring tools, equipment, materials, and safety standards reflect operational shop floor conditions.
  • Assessment & Evaluation:
  • Administer and evaluate technical assessments and readiness evaluations, documenting trainee performancein accordance withestablished procedures. 
  • Monitor trainee progress through defined learning paths,identifycompetency gaps, and provide coaching or corrective guidance as needed. 
  • Validate technician competency in both theoretical knowledge and practical application, providing objective final sign-off for module qualification readiness.
  • Maintainaccuratetraining records and trainee evaluations.
  • Administrative Support:
  • Assistwith clerical and administrative tasks including training scheduling, tracking certifications, andmaintainingtraining databases.
  • Support document control efforts andassistwith audit preparations as needed.
  • Compliance & Continuous Improvement:
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of training content and delivery methods through feedback and collaboration with technical stakeholders.  
  • Travel:
  • Willing and able to travel to various company locations and customer sites to conduct training, attend meetings, or receiveadditionaltraining.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in training development and delivery, preferably in an FAA Part 145 or aviation environment.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, particularly Part 145.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Ability toassess trainingeffectiveness andmodifycontent accordingly.
  • Willingness to travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) Certification.
  • Experience working in a repair station environment.
  • Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Human Factors training.
  • Familiar with AS9110
  • Familiar with CFM56 engines

Work Environment: 

  • Office, classroom, and hangar environments.
  • Occasional exposure toaircraftmaintenance operations.
  • Periodic domestic travel (overnight staysrequired).

Job Demands:

Work is performed in a Shop environment and requires the ability to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb to reach materials, and work in a noisy environment.
