The Opportunity
When you join PwC Acceleration Centers (ACs), you step into a pivotal role focused on actively supporting various Acceleration Center services, from Advisory to Assurance, Tax and Business Services. In our innovative hubs, you’ll engage in challenging projects and provide distinctive services to support client engagements through enhanced quality and innovation. You’ll also participate in dynamic and digitally enabled training that is designed to grow your technical and professional skills.
As part of the GIS(FME) team you will be part of the development, design, and delivery of Geographic Information System services to support utility industry clients. As a Manager, you supervise and mentor junior team members, manage diverse perspectives, and foster consensus to achieve favorable results. You integrate strategic thinking, technical proficiency, and successful collaboration to drive GIS initiatives across various client functions, including GIS applications, data conversions, and system integrations.
Responsibilities
- Define GIS performance testing strategy covering web, desktop, and service level workloads (ArcGIS Server, Utility Network, Feature Services).
- Identify performance critical GIS workflows (pan/zoom, tracing, edits, large spatial queries, batch jobs).
- Create realistic GIS workload models based on editor, viewer, integration, and batch processing usage patterns.
- Design test scenarios for:
- Map rendering and symbology scaling
- Feature service queries (attribute + spatial)
- Utility Network traces and validations
- Web GIS Load Test scenarios
- Concurrent editing and versioned data access
- Load and Stress Simulation: Execute load, endurance, and stress tests to determine how GIS (like ArcGIS Server) perform under high user traffic, specifically testing 2D/3D map rendering and data querying.
- Bottleneck Analysis: Monitor system KPIs—such as CPU utilization, memory, response times, and throughput—to identify bottlenecks related to spatial analysis or database queries.
- Result Reporting: Create detailed performance analysis reports that highlight the system's performance, identifying areas for improvement or potential downtime.
- Collaborate with Functional Analysts to map business flows into performance test cases.
- Prior experience in GIS Testing assignments will be an advantage.
- Collaboration & Optimization: Work with GIS developers and architects to suggest infrastructure changes, database tuning, or code optimizations to resolve issues.
- Perform RCA on performance issues and recommend improvement opportunities.
What You Must Have
- Minimum of 5 years’ working experience with Esri ArcGIS Software (Enterprise, Desktop, Server, ArcGIS Pro, Online)
- Understanding of ArcGIS Enterprise Architecture- ArcGIS Server, Portal, data Store etc.
- Understanding of ArcGIS Pro concepts: Maps, Projects, Layout templates, Editing Templates, Tasks etc.
- Understanding of Esri geoprocessing tools: model Builder
- Understanding of Geodatabases: Versioning and Spatial data Types
What Sets You Apart
- Experience working in the Utilities domain will be an added advantage, along with domain knowledge specific to Electric or Gas
- Knowledge of Esri Utility Network- Core Principles: SubNetwork, Associations, Containment, Tracing etc.
- In Depth knowledge of ArcGIS Pro and Geoprocessing functions.
- Experience with the Agile methodology and Jira software
- Advanced Excel capabilities
