The Opportunity
When you join PwC Acceleration Centers (ACs), you step into a pivotal role focused on actively supporting various Acceleration Center services, from Advisory to Assurance, Tax and Business Services. In our innovative hubs, you’ll engage in challenging projects and provide distinctive services to support client engagements through enhanced quality and innovation. You’ll also participate in dynamic and digitally enabled training that is designed to grow your technical and professional skills.
As part of the GIS team you will be part of the development, design, and delivery of Geographic Information System services to support utility industry clients. As a Senior Associate, you supervise and mentor junior team members, manage diverse perspectives, and foster consensus to achieve favorable results. You integrate strategic thinking, technical proficiency, and successful collaboration to drive GIS initiatives across various client functions, including GIS applications, data conversions, and system integrations.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise geodatabases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server) for ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Design and Define UN Data model for Utilities and Pipeline- Logical and Physical
- Validate editing workflows and Versioning Strategy
- Manage branch and traditional versioning, reconcile/post, and conflict resolution strategies.
- Administer spatial indexes, compression, archiving, and history tables.
- Develop strategies for database health and housekeeping Ops.
- Ability to fine tune spatial queries (ST packages) as needed.
- Review and finalize checklist with the Data migration team for the final output
- Configure Esri Data Reviewer tools for schema and data validations
- Familiarity with CIM for Utility databases
What You Must Have
- Database Operations & Performance
Database performance: Best practices from a spatial context.
Monitor and tune database performance for spatial and nonspatial workloads.
Implement
backup, restore, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies aligned with enterprise RTO/RPO requirements.
Develop routine
maintenance scripts (purging, pruning, statistics updates).
Run and monitor DB performance- egdb. Identify potential bottlenecks and improve.
ArcGIS Enterprise Support
Support ArcGIS Server and Portal workloads from a database perspective (UN services, feature services, map services).
Work closely with ArcGIS Enterprise specialists and architects on upgrades, patching, and migrations.
Ensure database readiness for Utility Network (UN), including rules, topology, and associations.
Experience in Mobile data replications
Data Governance & Security
Enforce data standards, naming conventions, and schema governance.
Experience in Data transfers for critical GIS integrations
Implement rolebased access, leastprivilege permissions, and auditing.
Ensure compliance with organizational security and datahandling policies.
Automation & DevOps Enablement
Develop and maintain automation scripts (SQL, Python/ArcPy) for maintenance and validation.
Support CI/CD pipelines for database changes where applicable.
Assist data migration and validation activities.
What Sets You Apart
- Minimum of four years’ experience with Esri ArcGIS Software (Enterprise, Desktop, Server, ArcGIS Pro, Online)
- Strong experience with enterprise RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
- Handson experience with ArcGIS Enterprise Geodatabases.
- Solid understanding of spatial data models, topology, networks, and versioning concepts.
- Experience with backup/DR design, performance tuning, and monitoring.
- Working knowledge of ArcPy, SQL, and scripting for automation.
- Familiarity with Utilities / Energy GIS data models (preferred).
- Understanding of largescale, multiuser GIS environments.
- Ability to work with GIS architects, developers, and infrastructure teams.
- Proactive approach to stability, performance, and risk mitigation.
- Experience working in the Utilities domain will be an added advantage, along with domain knowledge specific to Electric and/or Gas
- Knowledge of Esri Utility Network- Core Principles: SubNetwork, Associations, Containment, Tracing etc.
- Proven knowledge of database design and PL/SQL query, stored procedure and trigger development
- Experience in Geoprocessing tools and ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Experience with the Agile methodology and Jira software
- Knowledge of AWS RDS
