WORK SCOPE1. Vendor Sourcing & Management- Identify and onboard farmers, wholesalers, and local suppliers
- Build long-term relationships with reliable vendors
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and supply contracts
2. Procurement Planning- Forecast demand based on sales trends and seasonality
- Plan daily/weekly purchase quantities
- Ensure availability of seasonal fruits and vegetables
3. Quality Control- Inspect freshness, size, color, and overall quality
- Ensure produce meets company or market standards
- Reject damaged or low-grade stock
4. Price Monitoring & Cost Control- Track market rates (mandi prices, wholesale markets)
- Compare supplier pricing to get best deals
- Maintain cost efficiency while ensuring quality
5. Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination- Coordinate transportation from farms/markets to warehouse/store
- Ensure timely delivery to avoid spoilage
- Work with cold storage or warehousing teams if required
6. Inventory Management- Monitor stock levels and avoid overstocking or shortages
- Track shelf life and minimize wastage
- Maintain FIFO (First-In-First-Out) practices
7. Documentation & Reporting- Maintain purchase records, invoices, and supplier data
- Prepare daily/weekly procurement reports
- Track KPIs like cost, wastage, and supplier performance
8. Coordination with Internal Teams- Work closely with sales, operations, and warehouse teams
- Align procurement with promotions or demand spikes
- Support store teams with product availability
9. Market Research- Stay updated on seasonal availability and trends
- Explore new sourcing options (organic farms, direct sourcing)
- Monitor competitor pricing and product range
10. Risk Management- Handle supply disruptions (weather, transport issues)
- Maintain backup suppliers
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards
