NOTICE OF INTENT TO EMPLOY
POSITION: Middle School Science Teacher
LOCATION: Fruitport Community Schools
START DATE: 2026 - 27 School Year
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate - DI or DX
- Preferred teachable minors: EX, DA, DC, or DP
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Exhibit a high level of enthusiasm for the work and innovation in thinking around education in STEM disciplines
- Must follow district and state curricula and assessment requirements.
- Knowledge and ability to effectively apply the Next Generation Science Standards
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member of an effective Professional Learning Community (PLC)
- Knowledge and ability to implement project- or problem -based lessons
- Demonstrated and dynamic skills in the use of technology
- Knowledge of and ability to implement on a regular basis cooperative learning strategies and flexible grouping strategies.
- Willingness to support STEM initiatives throughout the district.
- Willing to work collaboratively with teams of teachers (including special education teachers).
- Knowledge of Positive Behavior Interventions & Support (PBIS).
- Follow and implement all Board of Education policies, administrative guidelines and building regulations.
- Willing to perform other duties as necessary and/or directed by the principal, including after school or evening activities.
