About MantriAI
MantriAi is a quality search firm that helps companies hire top talent while also assisting candidates throughout their job application process. We are running this mandate for EngageReel, who is building the next generation of AI-powered video creation.
EngageReel - It is an AI video-generation product built for fashion e-commerce, generating high-converting PDP videos, fashion ads, and creative variants at scale. Here users generate, edit, and publish professional-grade videos entirely in the browser, powered by state-of-the-art AI inference pipelines.
The role
Looking for a Frontend Engineer with strong expertise in media-centric web applications to own and evolve the EngageReel portal.
You'll work on browser-native video editing experiences: timelines, layering systems, previews, AI generation workflows, captions, scrubbing, export flows, and real-time job-state updates.
You'll collaborate closely with product, design, backend, and AI/ML teams, shipping production-grade interfaces that balance performance, usability, and architectural quality.
What you'll work on
• Build AI video generation UIs, prompt interfaces, generation job tracking, result previews, and export flows
• Implement browser-based video editing: timelines, layering, overlays, captions, scene editors, and scrubber controls
• Develop custom video players with support for HLS adaptive streaming, MP4 playback, and real-time preview rendering
• Handle all video state transitions gracefully: loading, processing, rendering, exporting, and playback
• Build reusable, composable media components - thumbnails, playback controls, progress indicators, and preview panels
Who we are looking for
• 4+ years of frontend development experience, preferably at a product-based company
• Strong proficiency in React.js (functional components, hooks, advanced patterns)
• Redux or Redux Toolkit for complex state management
• Hands-on experience building media-heavy or data-intensive UIs (editors, timelines, preview systems)
• Solid understanding of browser video APIs: HLS, MP4, Media Source Extensions (MSE), Canvas rendering, Web APIs, and browser playback pipelines
• Experience implementing real-time UI updates via WebSockets or similar
• Strong grasp of frontend performance optimization for large renders and high-frequency updates
• Experience with authentication flows and secure frontend architecture
• Proficiency with modern HTML, CSS, and CSS-in-JS solutions
Good to Have
• Experience with Remotion or similar video timeline/rendering libraries
• Familiarity with video analytics: watch-time tracking, drop-off analysis, engagement signals
• Prior work on AI-driven products or generative AI workflow UIs
• Exposure to large-scale SaaS applications or high-scale startup environments
• Basic understanding of backend systems (Node.js, Python, or Go)
Compensation
25-35 LPA fixed plus ESOPs

• Interview rounds with Engagereel team
• Final round in-office at Gurgaon HQ
