About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Frontend Engineer with a strong focus on building scalable, high-performance, and user-centric web applications. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining complex frontend systems primarily using React and Next.js, with an emphasis on creating seamless, responsive, and engaging user experiences. You will be responsible for translating design mockups into functional interfaces, making architecture decisions, and ensuring optimal performance and accessibility standards are met.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of frontend architecture, performance optimization, and a keen eye for design fidelity. You will work closely with our design and backend teams to build robust, reusable component libraries and interactive interfaces that meet the high-quality standards of The Product Highway. Additionally, you will leverage AI tools extensively to accelerate development, improve code quality, and handle cross-stack tasks when necessary. This position offers the opportunity to work across multiple projects, industries, and client environments, providing a dynamic and challenging work experience.
As a key member of our team, you will own the end-to-end delivery of frontend features, from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring that every product not only functions flawlessly but also delivers an exceptional user experience. Your contributions will directly impact how our clients' products are perceived and used globally.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess at least 4+ years of professional experience building production-grade frontend applications that involve complex state management, dynamic data, and demanding user interactions. Deep expertise in React and Next.js is essential, including familiarity with hooks, server components, app routing, SSR/SSG/ISR patterns, middleware, and API routes. Strong TypeScript skills are required, with the ability to write proper typings, generics, and leverage type inference effectively.
You should have a solid understanding of frontend architecture, including how to structure applications, manage state, and optimize performance. A good eye for design fidelity is necessary, with the ability to translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect interfaces while considering responsiveness and interaction nuances. Performance-conscious development practices, such as bundle size optimization, lazy loading, image optimization, and Core Web Vitals, should be second nature.
Willingness and ability to work across the stack are critical; this includes reading backend code, troubleshooting API issues, and making minimal backend adjustments when needed. Experience with REST and GraphQL APIs, deployment pipelines, and CI/CD processes is also required. Candidates should be comfortable working in diverse client environments, adapting quickly, and maintaining high standards of quality and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Build and deploy production-quality frontends using React and Next.js, taking ownership from architecture decisions to final deployment.
- Design and develop scalable, reusable component libraries that facilitate consistency and maintainability across projects.
- Convert design mockups into functional, pixel-perfect user interfaces, incorporating animations, micro-interactions, and responsive behaviors.
- Optimize frontend performance, focusing on bundle size, load times, and user interaction latency to ensure a smooth experience.
- Make architectural decisions related to state management, rendering strategies (SSR, SSG, ISR, client-side), data fetching, and caching.
- Develop complex interactive interfaces such as dashboards, data visualizations, real-time UIs, and multi-step workflows.
- Collaborate with backend teams to shape API contracts, ensuring frontend needs are met effectively and efficiently.
- Participate in cross-stack work when necessary, including writing API endpoints or troubleshooting backend issues that impact frontend functionality.
- Review and provide feedback on design and code, identifying gaps, edge cases, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ship features from concept to production, ensuring quality, performance, and usability standards are upheld.
- Write clean, maintainable code with proper APIs, strong types, tests, and documentation, fostering team collaboration and scalability.
- Work across multiple clients and projects, applying best practices, and sharing knowledge to improve overall development processes.
