Job details:
Be the first face and the lasting impression for our guests at one of Varanasi's most distinctive boutique stays.
About Pasban Pasban — The Gatekeeper is founded by Akhil Anand, who built Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels into one of India's most respected boutique hospitality brands — scaling it to eighteen operating destinations across the country. Pasban is his next chapter, carrying forward the same philosophy: small inventory, strong sense of place, real local food, and unhurried service. We operate a growing portfolio of experiential boutique hotels across India.
About the property Ekam Kashi is our property in Varanasi — a boutique stay rooted in the rhythm of the old city, the ghats, and the river. We attract a guest who comes to Varanasi for the city itself, and we want every interaction they have with our team to reflect that same sense of warmth, depth, and intention.
About the role
As the Front Office Executive, you are the anchor of the guest experience. In a small-inventory boutique property, the front desk isn't just about handing over keys — it's about anticipating needs, knowing the guests by name, and curating their stay. You will own the arrival, the stay experience, and the departure, ensuring everything feels seamless and unhurried.
Key responsibilities
- The Welcome & Farewell: Own the check-in and check-out process. Ensure every arrival is warm, personalized, and efficient.
- Guest Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for guests during their stay. Handle requests, book local experiences, arrange transport, and provide deep, authentic recommendations for exploring Varanasi.
- Operations & Billing: Manage the Property Management System (PMS). Ensure accurate billing, settle folios, and handle daily cash/card drops without errors.
- Cross-department Coordination: Work closely with Housekeeping to ensure rooms are pristine before arrival, and with F&B to coordinate meal preferences, room service, and special requests.
- Reservations Support: Handle direct inquiry calls and walk-ins, converting them into bookings with a strong understanding of our room categories and pricing.
- Feedback & Recovery: Handle guest feedback gracefully. If a guest has an issue, take ownership of fixing it immediately rather than passing it off.
What we're looking for
- 1–4 years of experience in front office or guest relations, preferably in a boutique, heritage, or luxury hotel.
- Exceptional communication skills in both English and Hindi.
- Deep local knowledge of Varanasi — you should be able to confidently guide a guest to the best ghats, weavers, or local food spots.
- Familiarity with hotel software (PMS) and basic billing procedures.
- A naturally warm, composed, and empathetic personality. You don't get flustered easily and genuinely enjoy talking to people.
- Hotel management diploma or degree preferred, but attitude and communication skills matter more than paper qualifications.
