We are currently seeking a contract Maintenance Mechanic to join our team for approximately 12-months!

Location – 2400 Skymark Avenue, Mississauga ON

Position Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for oversight and maintenance of the Fresenius Kabi Canada compounding site and distribution facilities.

This role includes hands-on responsibility of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), calibration and maintenance, facilities, power generator, mechanical & environmental equipment and environmental monitoring, pest control, controls/instrumentation, and HVAC needs. The Mechanic is a member of the team in support of the core business processes and will be responsible for the implementation of maintenance best practices while maintaining a priority focus on compliance and the health and safety of employees and customers. Also responsible for the administrative activities related to the maintenance management system and responsible for planning, scheduling and the coordination of facility and equipment maintenance related activities to minimize impact to the production and distribution of products and services.

In conjunction with the Technical Maintenance Manager, the Mechanic is also responsible for the review of relevant SOP'S related to maintenance activities. Functions will be performed by the incumbent as well as in collaboration with external contractors. This role may also be required to be on call to respond to emergency situations.

The Mechanic will work closely with a multi-functional Production, Operations and QA/QC team to ensure compliance with SOP’s, ISO and cGMP standards as well as the setting of long-range facilities maintenance and business operating plans and near-term priorities. The position is responsible for setting up and maintaining proactive PM services for both equipment and facilities, as well as the on-going monitoring of environmental system BMS, and utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The position will be responsible for facilities management including oversight of contractors and any building projects as required. The role requires a motivated individual with strong problem solving, analytical and self-management skills, and scheduling flexibility to ensure operational needs are met. The ability to handle a multi-tasked workload is required.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical background in Maintenance and Building management Systems
  • Demonstrated experience with coordinating activities across cross-functional areas
  • Strong English written and verbal communication and time-management skills
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office
  • Strong knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management systems (CMMS) Manager Plus software
