ESIP — École Supérieure Internationale de Pondichéry — opens in September 2026 and is recruiting a French Language Professor to support its first student cohorts in a rigorous, multilingual, and internationally oriented academic environment. This is a founding position: French language proficiency is a core academic competency across all ESIP programmes, several of which lead to degrees awarded by leading French partner institutions. The appointee will contribute directly to ESIP's academic quality from day one, and to the professional readiness of its graduates in French-speaking and international corporate environments.
About ESIP
ESIP is an international private higher education institution based in Pondicherry, India, founded by Francis Dassou, an international financial markets expert and alumnus of the French Lycée of Pondicherry. ESIP will open in September 2026 in a new campus designed as a professional environment from the first year of study. In partnership with ESSCA, a French management school holding triple accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA), ESIP offers a 2+3 excellence pathway: two years of the Grande École Programme in Pondicherry, followed by three years in France leading to the Master-level degree awarded by ESSCA. ESIP is also a partner of Groupe EDH — comprising EFAP, 3W Academy, MOPA and CESINE — offering 2+1 and 2+3 pathways in communication, digital, 3D animation and hospitality management. Key responsibilities
- Deliver French language courses to international post-secondary students, in alignment with the pedagogical requirements of partner programmes.
- Design and update course content, learning progressions, and assessments in French, adapted to ESIP's multilingual and intercultural environment.
- Provide individualised student support and contribute to their progression toward the language proficiency levels required for continuation of studies in France or internationally.
- Participate in the development and coordination of the French language programme, in liaison with the requirements of academic partners.
- Contribute to applied research in French as a Foreign Language (FLE) didactics or linguistics, and disseminate findings through publications or academic presentations.
- Participate in pedagogical meetings, academic governance bodies, and institutional life at ESIP.
- Support student onboarding and integration initiatives as required.
Candidate profile
Essential qualifications
- Master's degree in French Studies, Linguistics, FLE Didactics, Language Sciences or a related field — equivalent professional experience is considered in the absence of a Master's degree.
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience teaching French in higher education or in a FLE context.
- Full proficiency in French as the primary language of instruction.
- Operational level of English, required for pedagogical interaction, institutional communication, and the multilingual working environment.
Additional assets
- Experience in instructional design and curriculum development.
- Teaching experience in international or intercultural settings.
- Publications or conference contributions in FLE didactics, linguistics or related fields.
- Knowledge of the Franco-Indian educational context or comparative education systems.
- Familiarity with digital tools applied to language teaching.
