Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Freight Broker at Shine Logistics. The Freight Broker will source and match loads between shippers and carriers, negotiate rates, and ensure timely, cost-effective transportation solutions. Daily tasks include managing carrier and customer relationships, coordinating dispatch and tracking, monitoring load status, and resolving issues or delays. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and using transportation management systems and other digital tools to support efficient operations. The Freight Broker will collaborate with internal teams to support account growth, provide responsive customer service, and contribute to continuous process improvements.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Freight Brokerage and Brokerage, including sourcing carriers, negotiating rates, and managing load transactions.
- Strong Customer Service and Account Management abilities to build, maintain, and grow long-term client and carrier relationships.
- Experience with Dispatching, including coordinating pick-ups and deliveries, monitoring load progress, and resolving transit issues.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems, spreadsheets, and other logistics-related software tools.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong negotiation and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Knowledge of North American freight markets, modes of transportation, and basic regulatory requirements is preferred.
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain and a high school diploma or equivalent; further education in business or logistics is an asset.
