Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Freight Broker at Shine Logistics. The Freight Broker will develop and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers, negotiate rates, and arrange transportation for freight across North America. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing freight loads from quote to delivery, tracking shipments, resolving issues, and ensuring on-time performance. The role involves providing responsive customer service, coordinating with dispatch and operations teams, and maintaining accurate documentation and records in logistics platforms. The Freight Broker will also identify new business opportunities, support account growth, and uphold Shine Logistics’ standards for efficiency, transparency, and service quality.
Qualifications
- Strong Freight Brokerage and Brokerage skills, including sourcing carriers, negotiating rates, and managing end-to-end freight movements.
- Customer Service experience with the ability to communicate clearly, handle inquiries, and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Dispatching skills to coordinate loads, monitor shipments, and collaborate with carriers and internal teams.
- Account Management capabilities to build long-term client relationships, manage expectations, and support growth and retention.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems and standard logistics software tools.
- Solid understanding of North American freight markets, modes of transport, and basic compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach in a remote work setting.
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain is preferred; relevant certifications or training in logistics are a plus.
