Responsibilities:
1. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers and carriers to facilitate smooth transactions and repeat business.
2. Negotiation: Negotiate competitive rates with carriers while ensuring profitability for the company and value for clients.
3. Shipment Coordination: Coordinate the movement of freight, including scheduling pickups and deliveries, tracking shipments, and resolving any issues that may arise.
4. Documentation: Prepare and manage all necessary documentation, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and invoices, to ensure compliance with regulations and smooth operations.
5. Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, pricing fluctuations, and industry regulations to make informed decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
6. Problem Solving: Quickly address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the transportation process, including delays, damages, or changes in shipment requirements.
7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including those related to safety, licensing, and insurance.
8. Technology Utilization: Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and other software tools to streamline processes, track shipments, and analyze data for insights and improvements.
9. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the transportation process.
10. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and service enhancement, and actively contribute to the ongoing improvement of our operations.
Qualifications:
1. Experience: Proven experience as a Freight Broker in the US transportation industry, with a strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and freight brokerage practices.
2. Knowledge: Familiarity with federal transportation regulations, including FMCSA guidelines, and industry best practices.
3. Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable rates and terms while maintaining positive relationships with clients and carriers.
4. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
5. Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
6. Problem-Solving: Proven ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to ensure timely and successful freight delivery.
7. Technology Proficiency: Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), logistics software, and Microsoft Office suite.
8. Ethical Conduct: High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity, honesty, and professionalism in all dealings with clients, carriers, and colleagues.
