Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Freight Broker role based in Mohpa. The Freight Broker will identify and secure new shipper and carrier partnerships, negotiate freight rates, and match loads with appropriate carriers for the USA and Canada markets. Daily responsibilities include managing the full shipment lifecycle from pickup to delivery, monitoring load status, resolving service issues, and ensuring timely communication with all stakeholders. The role also involves using transportation management systems and market data to optimize routes, improve margins, and maintain accurate documentation. The Freight Broker will collaborate closely with internal teams to uphold service standards, support continuous process improvements, and help strengthen Austech’s carrier and customer network.
Qualifications
- Experience in freight brokerage or logistics operations, including OTR, drayage, and cross-border freight handling.
- Strong skills in rate negotiation, relationship building, and account management with shippers and carriers.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), load boards, and basic MS Office tools.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, timely updates and handle issue resolution professionally.
- Solid organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail in documentation and scheduling.
- Understanding of North American transportation regulations, freight types (FTL/LTL), and market dynamics is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, make sound decisions under time pressure, and maintain a customer-focused approach.
- Relevant education in logistics, supply chain, business, or related field is preferred; prior experience with USA/Canada lanes is a plus.
