Job Title: Freight Broker
Shift: Night Shift (5:30 PM – 2:30 AM)
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Location: Mohali
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the movement of freight from origin to destination by working closely with shippers and carriers.
- Build, manage, and maintain a reliable network of carriers to ensure capacity availability and service quality.
- Negotiate freight rates, service terms, and contracts with carriers and customers to achieve cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing shipment updates, handling inquiries, and resolving service-related issues.
- Monitor shipments throughout transit and proactively address delays, damages, or other operational challenges.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. transportation regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including shipment records, invoices, contracts, and communication logs.
- Analyze freight market trends, pricing fluctuations, and competitive activity to support strategic decision-making.
- Assist in business development efforts by supporting customer retention, referrals, and long-term relationship management.
- Prepare and maintain reports on shipment performance, carrier utilization, and key operational metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of experience in U.S. freight brokerage or logistics operations.
- Strong understanding of U.S. transportation and freight brokerage processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, night-shift environment.
- Proficiency in freight management systems, load boards, and MS Office tools.
