Job Summary
The Sr. Project Engineer manages minor capital projects within the Freeport LNG Engineering team. Responsibilities will include preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring the assigned engineering projects. Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
The Sr. Project engineer, should have the ability to work with multiple engineering disciplines and demonstrate excellent project management and supervision skills. The Sr. Project Engineer should also demonstrate excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Location/Travel Information
This position is based at the Houston Headquarters, with frequent travel to the Liquefaction Facility in Quintana, TX as well as other off-site locations, as required. This position requires the incumbent to hold a valid, unexpired driver license at all times in order to perform the essential functions of the job.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Develops and/or reviews comprehensive project scopes of work.
• Develops and/or reviews project execution plans and divisions or responsibility between contract and internal resources.
• Develops and/or reviews project cost estimates and forecasts.
• Develops and/or reviews project schedules.
• Monitors and develops reports on progress of project execution.
• Delivers progress presentations to the management team.
• Manages internal and external interfaces to ensure effective coordination, teamwork and timely delivery of information.
• Develops and/or reviews project quality assurance plans.
• Develops and maintains KPIs to track delivery against project objectives; including budget, schedule and quality expectations.
• Manages internal and external resources to ensure delivery of project budget, schedule and quality expectations.
• Uses best practices in change management to control scope changes and the associated cost and schedule impacts.
• Ensures quality of project deliverables; including documentation, materials and field execution.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts to create more efficient engineering solutions and execution methods to maintain project profitability.
• Ensure the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
• Manages field activities of contractors and ensures safe coordination with other work in the facility.
• Ensures timely and accurate responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), Engineering Service Requests (ESRs) and Variance Requests from internal and external parties.
• Leads development of requisition packages.
• Leads technical and commercial evaluations of contractor proposals and contracts
• Responsible for formal communication with contractors.
• Manages multidiscipline Management of Change packages (MOCs) to ensure quality documentation and efficient approval and execution.
• Provides project justification and stewards proposed projects through the internal approval process.
• Leads project team meetings and issues meeting minutes.

Minimum Qualification/Work Experience
Minimum Education Required: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Minimum Experience Required:
• 10+ Years of Engineering Experience
• 5+ Years of Project Engineering Experience
• 3+ years of experience in an operating industrial facility

HSE Roles and Responsibilities
Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Freeport LNG Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Actively participate in the HSE Management System Policies. Ensure that HSE concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
Working Conditions and Physical Expectations
• Operates in a professional office environment within or outside of an industrial plant environment.
• Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and filing cabinets.
• Must be able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
• Possible exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
• Possible exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical circuits.
• Possible exposure to constant, or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distraction.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
