Seeking a Sports Betting Quant / Odds Modeler (Consulting/Advisory Role)
We have built the V1 of our proprietary Soccer Odds Engine (Asian Handicap & Totals), but we need a heavyweight Sports Quant / Odds Compiler to help us refine the underlying mathematics and pricing logic.
Our engine processes live Bet365 data, but instead of replicating it, we are trying to generate a more conservative, OddsPortal-style pricing model (higher margin, safer anchor snapping, operator-friendly). The base architecture is complete, but we need an expert to troubleshoot and optimize specific mathematical gaps in our logic.
What we need help with (Consulting Scope):
• Anchor Selection Logic: Fixing our current rules so the engine stops aggressively mirroring upstream main lines and properly applies "conservative half-line snapping" based on 1x2 strength.
- Cross-Market Parity: Ensuring mathematical equivalence is perfectly locked (e.g., Home AH -0.5 ≈ Home 1x2 Win) before outer lines are generated.
- Margin Distribution: Tuning our ladder extension so that the anchor line hits our target margin (~5.25%), while outer lines smoothly absorb a higher, more conservative premium without breaking monotonicity.
Ideal Profile:
- Experienced Odds Compiler, Sports Betting Quant, or Trading Modeler.
- Deep understanding of how to build and repair a 5-line AH/OU ladder from a 1x2 reference.
- Can look at our engine's internal rules (pseudo-code/logic) and tell us exactly where the math is failing.
This is a part-time, consulting, or advisory role. If you know how to reverse-engineer bookmaker margins and fix broken pricing curves, I’d love to talk.
