Role Definition:
We’re looking for an editor who understands that editing is not decoration — it’s control of attention.
Your job is to transform raw footage into high-retention, clean, premium YouTube content—both long-form and short-form—while maintaining strict aesthetic discipline.
What You’ll Own:
- Craft long-form YouTube videos with strong retention curves (hooks, pacing, flow)
- Edit Shorts/Reels engineered for high watch-time and repeatability
- Execute a minimal, cinematic editing style (precision > complexity)
- Use DaVinci Resolve or Premiere Pro as your primary system
- Apply subtle, intentional motion/animation via After Effects (only where it adds value)
Non-Negotiables:
- Proven YouTube editing work (portfolio with retention-focused content)
- Strong command of pacing, rhythm, and viewer psychology
- Ability to cut aggressively without losing narrative clarity
- Close attention to micro-details (audio, cuts, timing, visual consistency)
Edge (Preferred, Not Mandatory):
- Experience with minimalist/cinematic /documentary-style edits
- Understanding of sound design as a retention tool
- After Effects proficiency (clean motion, not flashy animation)
