Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Freelance Network Automation Engineer with 7+ years of experience to support large-scale Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environments.
The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in network protocols (BGP, OSPF), network automation using Python, and hands-on experience managing large-scale distributed network environments.
This role involves working on global network infrastructure, automation, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of enterprise-grade systems.
Key Responsibilities
Network Engineering & Operations
- Design, build, and manage large-scale network infrastructure in OCI environments
- Handle network lifecycle management (build, upgrade, optimization)
- Monitor and optimize network performance and telemetry systems
- Provide break-fix support and act as escalation point for critical incidents
Network Automation
- Develop automation scripts using Python for network operations
- Automate configuration, monitoring, and deployment tasks
- Collaborate with automation teams to enhance tooling and workflows
Protocols & Architecture
- Work extensively with BGP, OSPF, and other network protocols
- Participate in network architecture and solution design
- Ensure scalability and reliability of global network fabric
Incident & RCA
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for network incidents
- Prepare post-mortem reports and implement preventive actions
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work with vendors for bug fixes and firmware upgrades
- Mentor junior engineers and lead small technical initiatives
- Coordinate with QA teams for validation of network changes
Required Skills (Mandatory)
- Strong experience in Network Engineering (7+ years)
- Hands-on expertise in BGP and OSPF protocols
- Experience with Network Automation using Python
- Strong knowledge of network devices and large-scale infrastructure
- Experience in network monitoring, telemetry, and performance tuning
- Expertise in root cause analysis and incident management
- Experience working with network vendors and troubleshooting software issues
