SORvÈNE is an emerging contemporary handbag brand looking for a freelance handbag designer/product developer based in Pune or Mumbai to help turn our existing design concepts into physical prototypes.
We already have the design direction, concepts and references. We need someone who can work with us to refine the design, develop the construction and create an actual working sample that can later be taken to a manufacturer.
What you'll do
- Refine and develop existing handbag designs with us
- Translate designs and references into physical prototypes
- Advise on construction, proportions, materials, hardware and functionality
- Develop/coordinate patterns and sampling
- Identify and solve construction issues during prototyping
- Refine samples based on feedback
- Prepare relevant patterns/specifications that can be shared with a manufacturer
This is a hands-on product development role. We are not looking for someone who only creates sketches or technical drawings. We need someone who can help turn the design into a real, well-executed handbag.
Who we're looking for
- Based in Pune or Mumbai
- Practical experience in handbag/bag design and development
- Understanding of handbag construction and pattern making
- Experience developing physical samples/prototypes
- Good understanding of materials, hardware and stitching
- Able to work collaboratively and suggest practical design improvements
Junior designers and emerging talent with strong hands-on experience are welcome. Portfolio and practical ability matter more than years of experience.
