Job Title:
Freelance Financial Modelling Expert for 3-Statement Financial Model
Project Overview:
We are looking to hire a skilled freelance financial modelling expert to build a structured, professional 3-statement financial model for our company. The model should include a Profit & Loss statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statement, all properly linked and built in a way that is easy to understand, update, and use for management planning or investor discussions.
We are looking for someone who is commercially strong, detail-oriented, and experienced in translating business assumptions into a practical financial model that supports forecasting, budgeting, and decision-making.
Scope of Work:
The selected freelancer will be expected to:
- Build a fully linked 3-statement financial model
- Structure the model with clear assumptions, calculations, and outputs
- Ensure proper flow between P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow
- Develop a model that is easy to update with changing assumptions
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning
- Create a clean, management-ready or investor-ready format
- Incorporate practical business logic, not just spread sheet formulas
Key Deliverables:
- Complete 3-statement financial model:
- Profit & Loss statement
- Balance Sheet
- Cash Flow statement
- Assumptions sheet / input section
- Forecasting and budgeting structure
- Linked formulas across all statements
- Clean and organized Excel or Google Sheets model
- Summary outputs/dashboard if relevant
- Model that is easy for management to review and update
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience in financial modelling
- Experience building 3-statement models from scratch
- Strong understanding of financial forecasting and budgeting
- Ability to properly link assumptions across statements
- Strong Excel and/or Google Sheets skills
- Strong business and financial planning understanding
- Ability to create clean, logical, and error-free models
- Good communication and ability to understand business requirements
Preferred Background:
- Experience working with growth-stage businesses or startups
- Experience with multi-entity businesses is a plus
- Background in FP&A, investment analysis, corporate finance, or financial consulting is preferred
- Experience creating models for management use, fundraising, or investor presentation is an advantage
