Flexing It has partnered with Our client, a leading global specialist in energy management and automation is looking for a Data Expert to support the Installed Base (IB) Data Domain. This role is responsible for designing and structuring the data model (including taxonomy/ontology) for Systems Data, ensuring that business processes are accurately translated into data requirements.
The role will ensure that Installed Base data is maintained as a trusted, single source of truth, with strong ownership of data flows, standards, and quality across systems. Acting as a bridge between business process owners and IT teams, the consultant will define, validate, and monitor data across the domain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the point of accountability for data flows, rules, and alignment with business process owners within the IB domain (e.g., Service Execution, Software & Connectivity, Experience, Traceability).
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across multiple systems within the data sub-domain.
- Design and maintain data models, taxonomy, and data structures aligned to business processes.
- Translate business requirements into clear and actionable data requirements for IT teams.
- Define and validate end-to-end data flows, including source-to-target mapping and integration logic.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure proper system integration (e.g., IB360) and identify gaps between current and target state.
- Support data projects, IT initiatives, and business transformations, ensuring data quality by design.
- Drive data quality initiatives, including issue identification, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Provide operational support for the domain, including bug resolution and continuous improvement inputs.
- Partner with business stakeholders and governance leads to define data standards, rules, and policies.
- Contribute to metadata management, taxonomy definition, and documentation of data assets and flows.
- Support analytics, reporting, and transformation initiatives by providing domain-specific data expertise.
- Create and maintain documentation including data models, use cases, and data flow diagrams.
Skills Required
- Strong experience in data modelling (conceptual, logical, and physical models).
- Solid understanding of data management, data governance, and data quality frameworks.
- Experience in defining data flows, taxonomy, and data standards.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with business and IT stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into data requirements.
- Experience in data mapping, system integration, and multi-system environments.
- Familiarity with SQL and enterprise data environments.
- Exposure to metadata management and data documentation practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
