THE OPPORTUNITY
Smartedge Consulting is expanding its professional network and is looking to empanel experienced Freelance Consultants, Auditors, Trainers and Subject Matter Experts across India.
We are looking for professionals who can independently support client assignments in one or more of the following areas:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Depending on expertise and project requirements, the consultant may be responsible for:
- Conducting Gap Assessments, Readiness Assessments and Compliance Assessments
- Developing project implementation plans and supporting client implementation
- Preparing / reviewing policies, procedures, SOPs, manuals, formats and records
- Conducting risk assessments and establishing appropriate controls
- Developing KPIs, objectives and monitoring mechanisms
- Conducting internal, supplier, compliance and management system audits
- Preparing professional audit and assessment reports
- Supporting CAPA, root-cause analysis and corrective action closure
- Supporting certification, customer and third-party audit readiness
- Conducting awareness, implementation and auditor training
- Supporting ESG, sustainability, energy, food safety and social compliance projects
- Providing technical inputs for proposals and client presentations
- Supporting client relationship development and identifying consulting opportunities where practical
DOMAIN-SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE
IMS–QEHS
Experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 implementation, auditing and training, including process management, environmental aspects, legal compliance, HIRA, JSA, emergency preparedness, incident investigation and contractor safety.
Food Safety
Experience in ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP and/or BRCGS, including food safety plans, PRP/OPRP, risk assessment, internal audits and certification readiness.
Energy
Experience in ISO 50001, energy reviews, baselines, EnPIs, SEUs, energy audits, energy efficiency initiatives and energy performance improvement.
ESG & Sustainability
Experience in ESG assessments, BRSR, GRI, CDP, carbon/GHG accounting, ISO 14064, Net Zero, climate-related assessments, supplier sustainability and EcoVadis readiness.
Social Compliance
Experience in SA 8000, SMETA / Sedex, labour and human rights, working conditions, health & safety, ethical practices, responsible recruitment, grievance mechanisms and supplier social compliance.
TRAINING & CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT
Consultants may also be engaged to conduct:

across relevant standards and subjects such as:

- 5+ years of relevant industry, consulting, auditing or training experience
- Strong technical knowledge in one or more relevant domains
- Relevant Lead Auditor / Auditor / Professional certifications
- Practical experience in consulting and implementation
- Strong client-facing and presentation skills
- Good report-writing and documentation capability
- Ability to independently manage assignments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Professional integrity and commitment to confidentiality
- Willingness to travel to client locations when required
