We are developing a portfolio of large-scale mangrove restoration projects and are looking for an experienced Verra VM0033 expert to support the drafting of high-quality PDDs.
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly experienced Carbon Project Developer / PDD Specialist with a proven track record in drafting and submitting Project Design Documents (PDDs) under Verra standards, specifically VM0033 Methodology for Tidal Wetland and Seagrass Restoration.
This is a mission-based consulting role for professionals who can deliver high-quality, audit-ready PDDs with minimal revisions and strong acceptance rates.
You will work closely with our internal team to transform existing data rooms and feasibility studies into robust, certification-ready documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the drafting of PDDs under Verra (VM0033), ensuring full compliance with methodology requirements
- Review and strengthen existing project data rooms, identifying potential gaps and improving documentation quality
Structure and document:
- Baseline scenarios
- Additionality demonstration
- Carbon accounting (ARR / blue carbon pools)
- Leakage, non-permanence, and uncertainty
- Monitoring plans (MRV)
- Ensure alignment with Verra VCS requirements and latest guidance
- Prepare documentation to minimize validation comments and revisions
- Collaborate with internal technical teams (GIS, biomass, field data)
Required Experience- ✅ Proven experience drafting and submitting PDDs under Verra (VCS)
- ✅ Direct experience with VM0033 (mangroves )
- ✅ Track record of PDDs successfully accepted or validated with limited revisions
- ✅ Strong understanding of:
- Blue carbon ecosystems (mangroves, wetlands)
- IPCC guidelines and carbon accounting methodologies
- MRV frameworks and monitoring design
- ✅ Experience working with validation/verification bodies (VVBs)
Mandatory Requirements- 📄 Ability to share at least 2–3 PDDs you have authored or co-authored
- 📊 Provide evidence of project outcomes, including:
- Acceptance / validation status
- Number of revision rounds
- ⭐ Experience with projects that received high ratings from Sylvera or similar rating agencies is strongly preferred
- 🌍 Fluent in professional English (written and spoken)
Nice to Have- Experience with other methodologies (e.g., ARR, REDD+, VM0047, etc.)
- Familiarity with GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS)
- Experience working in developing countries (Africa, Southeast Asia, Latin America)
- Ability to support end-to-end project structuring beyond PDD drafting
