Role Overview
We are looking for a Freelance AWS Java Spark Engineer with strong experience in Java (17/21), Spring Boot, Spark, and AWS cloud-native development, along with hands-on experience in the Payments domain.
The ideal candidate will work on payment systems modernization and dispute management workflows, building scalable microservices and data processing pipelines in a cloud-native environment.
Key Responsibilities
Backend & Microservices Development
- Develop scalable applications using Java 17/21 and Spring Boot
- Build and maintain microservices-based architecture
- Design and implement REST APIs for payment systems
Data Processing & Spark
- Develop and optimize data pipelines using Apache Spark
- Process high-volume payment transaction data
- Ensure performance, scalability, and fault tolerance
AWS Cloud-Native Development
- Design and deploy applications on AWS (cloud-native architecture)
- Work with services like:
- EC2, S3, Lambda
- EKS / ECS
- CloudWatch
- Implement secure, scalable cloud solutions
Payments & Domain Expertise
- Work on payments systems, dispute workflows, and transaction processing
- Support modernization initiatives in payment platforms
- Ensure compliance with financial and security standards
Containerization & DevOps
- Work with Kubernetes (EKS) for container orchestration
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Ensure application reliability and monitoring
Agile & Collaboration
- Work in Scrum/Agile environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Required Skills (Mandatory)
- Strong experience in Java (7+ years)
- Hands-on experience with Java 17/21 and Spring Boot
- Strong experience with Apache Spark
- Experience in AWS Cloud (cloud-native development)
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS/ECS)
- Experience in microservices architecture
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Experience in Payments domain (mandatory)
Nice to Have
- Experience in disputes management / payment reconciliation systems
- Knowledge of Kafka or event-driven architecture
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Familiarity with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
