Our client, a global leader in Energy Management and Automation, is looking to hire a skilled 3D Designer (Blender) to support the creation of optimized 3D assets for AR/VR training simulations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in low-poly modeling, texturing, and asset optimization for real-time XR applications.
Key Responsibilities
• Design very low-poly 3D models optimized for real-time performance in Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) environments.
• Create and integrate optimized textures to ensure lightweight and efficient 3D assets.
• Model accurate 3D objects using:
Reference images
CAD files (.STEP format)
Real-world object references
• Prepare clean, well-structured, and optimized 3D meshes ready for integration into XR tools.
• Export final assets in .FBX format, adhering to internal naming conventions and technical guidelines.
Skills Required
• Excellent command of Blender as the primary 3D creation software.
• Strong expertise in:
3D modeling
UV unwrapping
Texturing workflows within Blender
• Experience with baking workflows (normal maps, ambient occlusion) within Blender.
• Solid understanding of the following file formats:
.FBX (mandatory output format)
.STEP / CAD formats (frequent input formats)
.GLB / .GLTF file types
• Ability to model technical and industrial components such as:
Circuit breakers
Transformers
Switchgear
Electrical instrumentation
• Capability to create small 3D environments (rooms, outdoor areas, technical scenes).
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately reproduce real-world objects while maintaining low poly constraints.
Note: Adobe Substance Painter is not part of our workflow.
Nice to Have
Understanding of real-time performance constraints in AR/VR (polycount budgets, texture sizes, draw calls).
Familiarity with Unity asset import pipelines.
Basic knowledge of PBR principles (adapted for XR use cases).
