About the role

Description

This position supports Free Arts expansion programming by coordinating and executing key Free Arts programs such as Free Arts Days, the Weekly Mentor Program, Professional Artist Series, Camp Series, and others. This position also supports volunteer outreach, orientation, training, engagement, and retention activities for program capacity building and expansion efforts.

Starting Salary: $46,000 annual salary

Location: Phoenix & Surrounding Areas, up to 40% travel within and between Maricopa and Pima Counties

  • Collaborates with community partners, artists, and youth-serving organizations to facilitate arts programming.
  • Supports the volunteer recruitment and enrollment process, including outreach events, orientations, trainings, interviews, and retention activities.
  • Works closely with volunteers to identify programs that align with their skills, preferences and availability.
  • Develops and uses systems to organize and keep track of information and work progress.
  • Works effectively within established timeframes and priorities.
  • Utilizes logical, practical, and efficient approaches.
  • Monitors implementation of plans and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborated with community partners and artists, designs art projects.
  • Plans and executed events and programs.

Requirements

  • Ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of practical work experience in a business setting.
  • Knowledge and experience using Windows operating system and Microsoft Office suite applications. 
  • Must be able to have access to and provide reliable transportation for self. An AZ driver’s license and proof of insurance is required for qualifying mileage reimbursements. 
  • Must possess a driver’s license, reliable transportation, and be able to travel within and between Maricopa, Pima, and surrounding counties 40% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a Fingerprint Clearance Card to be present around the children we serve.
  • This person frequently interacts with volunteers and constituents about the mission and vision of Free Arts. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Preferred Qualifications 

The following qualities and experience in addition to the years of experience are highly desirable: 

  • Ability to read and write in Spanish
  • Experience working with diverse populations is a plus
  • Experience working with volunteers is a plus
  • High proficiency and experience with Windows, Microsoft Applications, and CRM software (Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack or similar nonprofit CRM)

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 60% of the time using a computer.
  • Must be able to travel within and between Pima and Maricopa counties 40% of the time, with some travel occurring during evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to identify and assess written materials, including fine print.
  • Must be able to position oneself to maintain files, supplies, document boxes, and other materials up to 50 pounds as needed.

Environmental Requirements

  • Must be able to commute to the Free Arts office (Maricopa County) as determined.
  • Must be able to regularly work in a well-lit, temperature-controlled work area.
  • Must be able to work a mix of weekdays, weekends, and evenings if needed.
  • Must be able to work in an open area with other employees and volunteers 80% of the time.

About the company

Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona is a local nonprofit agency that heals homeless, abused, and foster care children through artistic expression. Free Arts programs include elements that promote safety, self-expression, and a sense of belonging. All Free Arts programs are delivered by over 900 volunteers and artists. We currently provide programming to more than 7,300 children annually through partnerships with 35 social service child welfare agencies at 100+ sites across Maricopa County.
