The Role

Emergence supports a portfolio of software businesses. The fastest way to help these companies is surprisingly simple: make the numbers trustworthy, consistent, and easy to use.

This role is built for someone who likes the fundamentals. If you care about clean close, reconciliations that tie, and reports that leadership can actually rely on, you will fit well here.

What You Will Do

• Support month-end reporting, including variance analysis and management reporting packs
• Maintain forecasting and budgeting templates, track actuals, and keep definitions consistent over time
• Partner closely with accounting to keep schedules clean (accruals, prepaid, AR, AP, deferred revenue where relevant)
• Catch issues before they become problems, including data inconsistencies and classification errors
• Improve repeatability across reporting workflows, so the same mistakes do not happen again next month
• Support audit readiness and documentation standards where needed

Requirements (Calibrated by Experience Level)

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar
• Strong academic record from a rigorous program (examples in India include IIT, NIT, BITS, SRCC, top Delhi University programs, IIM paths, or comparable top-tier institutions across Asia)
• Strong accounting fundamentals are required. Credentials like CA, CPA, ACCA, or CMA are a plus, including progress toward them
• For experienced candidates, familiarity with month-end close, reconciliations, audit support, and management reporting
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
