The mission

The role
Founding PM owning product 0 → 1 → scale. Clear path to Director / Head of Product.
This is not a manage-the-backlog role. You work like a founder — high ownership, ship fast, obsess over users.

What you'll own
Product vision & strategy
- Define the north star aligned to business outcomes
- Identify opportunities through user research, data, competitive benchmarking, stakeholder input
- Prioritise using structured frameworks (RICE, ICE, MoSCoW) — make sharp calls on what to build, kill, and sequence
0 → 1 execution + delivery
- Take ideas from raw insight to shipped product
- Write crisp PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria that unblock design and engineering
- Run sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management for your pod
- Own outcomes, not just output
User obsession & discovery
- Live inside user feedback loops — drop-offs, behaviour, purchase triggers
- Talk to users continuously; synthesise insights into precise product decisions
- Decisions from real data, not assumptions
Habit loop creation
- Build daily-use loops that make us part of a student's routine
- Improve stickiness, DAU, learning consistency
Full funnel ownership (Install → Activation → Engagement → Retention → Monetisation)
- Find drop-offs; fix them
- Improve D1 / D7 retention, session time, watch time, repeat usage
- Free → paid conversion, paywall performance, pricing, upsell
Data, metrics & experimentation
- Define and own dashboards for DAU/MAU, retention, watch time, engagement rate, conversion
- Hands-on with Mixpanel, Amplitude, Firebase, GA4 — comfortable in SQL
- Run a real experimentation culture: design, ship, and analyse A/B tests
- Data drives decisions — not gut
Engagement systems
- Build push, WhatsApp, in-app re-engagement that moves the needle
AI-native product building
- Use Claude, Gemini, and similar to wireframe, prototype, and iterate fast
- Speed > perfection
Growth & marketing partnership
- Understand CAC, LTV, conversion rates
- Work tightly with marketing on the acquisition → retention → monetisation loop
Cross-functional collaboration
- Partner with Design, Engineering, Content, Marketing, and Business — be the connective tissue
- Voice of the user inside the team; advocate hard for user-centric decisions
Team leadership
- Lead and grow a focused product pod of 5–6
- Set the bar for product thinking across the org
Stakeholder communication
- Crisp, structured updates to founders, investors, partners
Must-haves
- 3–5 years of product management experience — ideally in consumer internet, OTT, media, content, or entertainment
- Shipped product that moved retention, engagement, or monetisation numbers
- Strong analytical skills — comfortable with SQL and product analytics tools (Mixpanel, Amplitude, Firebase, or similar) and turning data into action
- Detailed PRD writing + agile execution
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment
- Excellent communication and storytelling — can present complex ideas simply and persuasively
- Founder mindset · bias for action · ego-light
- Genuine user obsession
Good-to-haves
- EdTech, content, or consumer app experience
- Worked on video, OTT, content recommendation, or creator-economy products
- Exposure to personalisation, ML-driven features, or recommendation algorithms
- Familiarity with monetisation models — AVOD, SVOD, in-app purchases, creator revenue share
- A/B testing track record
- Built an organic growth engine before
- High-growth startup experience
- Engineering / CS undergrad; MBA from a top institution is a plus (not a gate)
