Who we are
Hampox is an AI-powered website builder that creates premium websites for Indian small businesses in seconds, in their own language. We turn a simple business description into a live, content-rich site wired to WhatsApp orders — no developers, no agencies, no waiting. It's built for shopkeepers, studio owners, family manufacturers, and first-time founders who know their product but have never had a website. Professional websites at ₹399/month, with a free, no-card start. The product is live and used by real businesses right now.
It was designed, built, and shipped by one person — the founder. The product is done. What's not done is getting India to discover it, understand it, and trust it.
Why this role exists (and why it isn't an internship)
I'm not hiring a specialist to do one thing. I'm hiring the first marketing mind of the company — someone who joins the founding team while it's still one person, and helps figure out how Hampox reaches people and wins them over.
This role sits at the meeting point of three things, in balance:
- Content strategy and execution — deciding what we say, to whom, and why, then actually making it (posts, short-form video, captions, stories, testimonials)
- Digital marketing — distribution, social growth, community, experimenting with what channels and formats actually move the needle
- Business strategy — positioning, how we frame pricing and the free trial, how we explain WhatsApp ordering to someone who's never had a "website," and where the next customer comes from
It's a thinking seat, not just an executing one. Everything starts with a question: why would this person care? why would they trust us? what's the smarter way to say this? — and then you go make it and test it.
You'll work directly with the founder — planning together, building together, reviewing what worked and what didn't, together. No tasks handed down. No grading you on view counts.
What you'll actually own
- Think through why something should work before making it — audience, hook, angle, business logic
- Build the content — short-form video (Reels/Shorts), posts, captions, founder builder-logs, real user testimonials (AI tools welcome; I'll teach you what you don't know)
- Run digital marketing — grow and own one of our vernacular social accounts (Telugu or Hindi, based on your fluency) end to end, and experiment across channels
- Shape positioning and messaging — pricing story, free-trial framing, how we talk about the product
- Turn real user stories into content that builds trust
- Own the content calendar — what's live, what's next, what we learned
- SEO (a plus, not required): help improve how hampox.app ranks and gets discovered — keywords, on-page basics, content that pulls in organic traffic. If you know SEO, you'll have real ground to own here.
- Bring ideas we haven't thought of — on content, growth, positioning, business, anything.
Who I'm looking for
- Genuine curiosity about why marketing works, not just how to execute it
- A generalist's instinct — comfortable moving between making content, thinking about growth, and thinking about the business
- Real interest in Indian small business / MSME life alongside creative instinct — this role lives between marketing and business strategy
- Fluency in Telugu and/or Hindi in addition to English — this decides which channel you'd lead, so tell me your strongest language(s)
- Someone who treats a rough idea as a starting point to build on, not a fixed instruction to follow
- Courage over credentials. I care about passion, judgment, and hunger to build from zero — not certificates or a long list of tools
- Self-starter energy — we're a team of one, so your ideas will shape what we do next, immediately
What makes this different.
I evaluate your thinking, not your output's performance. A smart idea that doesn't go viral is still a smart idea — and I'll tell you why I think it was smart. If you want a place where you can propose something bold, be wrong sometimes, and still be taken seriously, this is it.
Nice to have (not required — I'll teach you)
- SEO knowledge (on-page, keywords, content-led organic growth) — a real plus for the apex-domain work
- Basic video editing or AI video tools (CapCut, Canva, Runway, HeyGen, etc.)
- Any prior social handling — even your own page counts as real experience
- Interest in growth, positioning, or business models beyond pure content
- Curiosity about AI tools and how they're changing marketing
What you'll gain
- A founding-team seat at an AI startup while it's still small enough for your fingerprints to be everywhere
- Direct, hands-on mentorship from the founder — real strategy conversations, not task lists
- Genuine ownership over ideas that shape the company's direction
- First call for a paid, core-team role the moment Hampox is revenue-positive — and an honest conversation about a longer-term stake for those who prove themselves
- A public portfolio of real, shipped work, backed by the reasoning behind it, plus a Certificate and a strong recommendation
The honest part
We're pre-revenue, so this starts unpaid — I won't pretend otherwise. It's roughly 20 hours/week, remote, flexible around your studies, starting with a short 2-week trial and continuing on mutual fit. I'm telling you this upfront because the people I want are the ones who'd want in anyway — because building something real from scratch is the point.
