🚀 Founding Full-Stack Engineer - Fitness Tech & AI
Location: Remote, India
Experience: 1-3 years
Employment: Full-time
Company: Stealth-stage Fitness Technology Startup
About Us
We are a 1-year-old technology-led fitness startup building the quick-commerce layer for fitness - making personalized fitness services available on demand.
We already have a live product, paying customers and real-world usage.
We're now looking for a Founding Full-Stack Engineer to work directly with the founder and take significant ownership of our technology as we scale.
This is an early-stage role where you'll build, ship, debug and make technical decisions — not simply execute predefined tasks.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Founding Full-Stack Engineer who is comfortable working across frontend, backend, databases, APIs and integrations.
You will initially take ownership of our existing production technology, improve automation and reliability, and then work on building a significantly better platform from the ground up.
Over time, we plan to build intelligent technology around fitness, personalization, health data and AI.
If you enjoy building rather than just coding, this role could be a great fit.
What We're Looking For
1–3 years of hands-on software development experience.
We care much more about what you have actually built and shipped than the number of years on your resume.
You should have:
Core:
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- React / React Native
- Node.js / backend development
- Firebase / Firestore or similar backend platforms
- REST APIs & database design
- Git / GitHub
- Authentication & authorization
- Third-party API integrations
- Payment & notification integrations
- Debugging, testing & production troubleshooting
AI / Emerging Tech:
- Experience with OpenAI, Gemini, Claude or similar LLM APIs
- LLM-based application development & prompt engineering
- Familiarity with RAG, AI agents and tool calling is a plus
Engineering:
- Strong problem-solving and system design fundamentals
- Ability to work with existing codebases
- Understanding of performance, security and scalable architecture
- Experience shipping and maintaining real-world applications
Most importantly, you should have shipped real software.
We want someone who has built and deployed applications and understands what it takes to run software in production.
The Kind of Engineer We Want
You should:
- Take ownership from idea → development → deployment
- Move quickly without compromising reliability
- Be comfortable working with an existing codebase
- Solve problems independently
- Learn new technologies quickly
- Think about product, not just code
- Be comfortable with ambiguity
- Ship, test and iterate
You don't need to know everything. You need to know how to figure things out.
You will frequently receive a problem rather than a detailed specification.
For example:
"We need a system that automatically assigns the best available trainer to each booking."
We expect you to think through the requirements, edge cases, architecture and implementation — and then build it.
Why Join Us?
🚀 High ownership — Work directly with the founder and influence the technology stack and architecture.
🛠 Real product, real users — Your work will directly impact a live product.
🤖 Full-stack + AI — Opportunity to grow from product engineering into AI-powered applications.
📈 Growth & ownership — As the company and your responsibilities grow, compensation will be reviewed based on performance. Strong performers may also have the opportunity to participate in an ESOP/equity structure.
Compensation
₹20,000/month initially + potential ESOPs.
We are a very early-stage company, so we are looking for someone who is motivated by ownership, learning, building and growth, not simply a predefined corporate job description.
Performance and compensation will be reviewed as you take on greater responsibility and demonstrate consistent delivery.
How to Apply
Please share:
- Resume / LinkedIn profile
- GitHub / portfolio
- Products or applications you've shipped
- A short description of the most challenging product you've built and what you personally contributed
Bonus: Send us a live product you've built.
We care about how you think and what you've shipped, not just the technologies listed on your resume.
This role is for you if:
You are early in your career but already think like a builder.
If you've been waiting for someone to give you the opportunity to build something real, this could be it.
