Job details:
Founding Engineer | IIT/BITS
Location: Mumbai
Role: Full time, Founding Team
Joining: November
Looking for an engineer who is also an Entrepreneur, Builder and Mr. Figureoutable at heart to join our founding team.
About Us:
We are a D2C brand led by IITR alum. We are pre-launch and have raised pre-seed funding backed by founders of Souled Store, TIGC, partners from Investment banking, and strong startup operators.
We aim to become a 5000 Crore brand by 2030 and tech would be at the core of how we achieve this goal.
But why hire in tech for a D2C brand?
We're building what we hope will be one of India's first truly AI-native, tech-first D2C brands.
- Not a D2C company that occasionally uses ChatGPT.
- A company where AI and technology are at the core of how we operate, make decisions, serve customers, and scale
Thus we are looking for a Founding Engineer cum AI builder to make this happen.
Who are we looking for?
- A strong full-stack engineer, AI enthusiast, problem solver, and someone with serious entrepreneurial energy.
- Has a high bias for action. You'd rather ship something in 3 days than discuss it for 3 weeks.
- Someone who can independently take products from idea to deployment.
- Can build for web and mobile (or is confident in figuring out what they don't know).
- Is genuinely excited about, stays highly updated and has built products using AI, LLMs, agents, and automation.
- Thinks like a founder, not just an engineer.
- Loves ownership, ambiguity, and figuring things out.
- Bachelors from tier-1 colleges - IIT/BITS/IIIT
- Bonus: Experience building AI agents, agentic AI systems which are being used on production and at scale would be a big plus
- Bonus: ex-founders, ex-founding engineer at funded startups
What will you actually do?
Pretty much everything tech.
- Build our website, mobile app, and customer-facing experiences.
- Build AI agents and automate workflows across marketing, operations, customer experience, and more.
- Experiment with new AI tools, ship quickly, break things, fix things.
- Own the entire tech stack, from writing code to deploying products.
- Eventually help build the tech team as we scale.
Why this should be exciting?
- Because you will one of the first few engineers in India who will build a real-life case study on building brands in the age of AI.
- You'll get to experiment with technology across the entire business, not just a product; and you get to see the impact your work is bringing.
- If you have that entrepreneurial itch, this could be one of the most interesting ways to scratch it.
- It's the perfect opportunity if you are looking for a role that could be a stepping stone before building your own startup
Important Disclaimer
- This might come with a pay cut. If maximizing your salary over the next 12 months is your top priority, this probably isn't the right opportunity.
- We're looking for someone optimizing for ownership, learning, building incredible things, and long-term upside.
- There will be meaningful ESOPs, real decision-making power, and a chance to build something that becomes a case study talked about globally.
