About the Role
At Aviso AI, our core platform delivers AI-driven forecasting and revenue intelligence. However, enterprise RevOps environments are incredibly complex, messy, and highly customized. That’s where our Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSE) come in.
Operating at the intersection of hardcore backend engineering and strategic customer consulting, you will be the "tip of the spear" for our most complex enterprise deployments. This is a high-impact, hands-on coding role. You will work directly with our customers' technical teams, IT leaders, and RevOps executives to design and build bespoke backend solutions, custom data pipelines, and API integrations that connect their unique tech stacks directly to Aviso’s AI engine.
You will not just be implementing software; you will be writing production-level Python code to solve bespoke customer problems in real-time. If you are a strong backend engineer who loves coding but wants to step out of the traditional sprint-cycle to work directly with customers and see the immediate business impact of your code, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct Customer Engineering: Serve as the lead technical engineer for enterprise customers. Lead technical discovery sessions, architect custom solutions, and write the backend code required to make those solutions a reality.
- Heavy Python Development: Design, build, and deploy robust Python-based microservices, data transformation scripts, API middlewares, and automated workflows tailored to specific customer environments.
- Complex Data Integration: Build secure, scalable ETL pipelines to ingest, clean, and map massive, messy datasets from highly customized CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot), ERPs, and internal data warehouses into the Aviso platform.
- Bespoke Problem Solving: Act as a high-agency problem solver. When an enterprise customer has a unique sales motion or legacy system that doesn't fit neatly into an out-of-the-box configuration, you will architect and code the bridge to make it work.
- Core Product Loop: Act as the technical bridge between the field and our core Engineering team. Generalize the bespoke code and custom features you build for individual customers, and work with core engineering to integrate the best solutions into the core Aviso product.
- Technical Project Ownership: Own the technical outcome of the customer deployment end-to-end—from initial whiteboarding and architecture design to writing the code, testing, and pushing to production.
Required Qualifications
- Backend Engineering Experience: 4 to 8+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, specifically focused on backend development, data engineering, or systems integration.
- Deep Python Expertise: Advanced, hands-on proficiency in Python. You must be highly capable of writing clean, scalable, and efficient backend code (experience with frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django, and data libraries like Pandas).
- Customer-Facing DNA: Exceptional communication skills. You possess the rare ability to write production-grade code and confidently lead a technical whiteboarding session with a customer's CIO, CTO, or VP of RevOps.
- API & Systems Integration: Extensive experience working with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, and complex authentication flows (OAuth, SAML). You know how to make disparate systems talk to each other reliably.
- Database & SQL: Strong relational database skills. You can write complex SQL queries to untangle customized enterprise data models.
- Working Hours: Must be willing and able to work standard US business hours to ensure real-time collaboration with our North American customer base and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- FDSE / Solutions Architecture Experience: Previous experience in a Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or highly technical Professional Services role at a B2B SaaS company (e.g., Palantir, Databricks, Snowflake).
- CRM Under-the-Hood: Strong technical understanding of Salesforce architecture (SOQL, APEX limits, custom objects, and SFDC APIs).
- Cloud & DevOps: Hands-on experience deploying your custom code using Docker, AWS/GCP services, and basic CI/CD pipelines.
