Forward Deployed Engineer — L2 (GroundSet™)
Location: Singapore / Remote (APAC preferred)
Type: Full-Time
Role
This is not a traditional software engineering role.
The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) team sits at the intersection of:
- enterprise systems,
- AI infrastructure,
- deployment architecture,
- and customer operations.
FDEs are responsible for deploying GroundSet™ - BPOptima’s enterprise judgement infrastructure - into real regulated environments.
That means:
- integrating with enterprise systems,
- architecting deployment workflows,
- solving production reliability problems,
- translating operational requirements into infrastructure,
- and ensuring AI systems behave deterministically under real-world constraints
This role combines:
- systems engineering,
- infrastructure thinking,
- deployment ownership,
- and client-facing technical leadership.

What You’ll Own
Enterprise Deployment Architecture
- Deploy GroundSet™ into enterprise client environments
- Design secure integrations with existing systems of record
- Work across VPC, sovereign cloud, and hybrid deployment environments
AI Infrastructure & Orchestration
- Build and optimize multimodal inference pipelines
- Architect routing, orchestration, and policy execution systems
- Improve latency, reliability, and operational resilience
Decision Infrastructure
- Implement deterministic policy enforcement systems
- Design auditability and traceability layers
- Build workflows that convert AI reasoning into operational actions
Technical Client Leadership
- Work directly with enterprise stakeholders and technical teams
- Translate ambiguous operational problems into deployable systems
- Drive implementation from architecture to production rollout
What This Role Is Not
- Frontend-heavy product work
- Prompt-engineering-only workflows
- Thin wrappers around hosted AI APIs
- Low-ownership execution work
This role is for engineers who want to own systems end-to-end.
Requirements
Non-Negotiable
- Strong systems engineering background
- Experience building and operating distributed systems in production
- Strong understanding of latency, concurrency, scaling, and failure modes
- Ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments
- Strong debugging and infrastructure reasoning skills
- Comfort working directly with enterprise technical stakeholders
Strong Signals
- Rust / Go / C++ experience
- Infrastructure or platform engineering background
- Experience with AI inference systems or model serving
- Kubernetes / container orchestration experience
- Security-sensitive or regulated systems exposure
- OSS contributions in infrastructure/systems
- Experience deploying systems into enterprise environments
