About the role

Responsibilities: - Conduct research and development activities related to materials science and biocompatibility for medical devices and products - Develop and characterize new materials, coatings, and surface modifications to improve biocompatibility, functionality, and performance of medical devices - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and test prototypes - Conduct biocompatibility testing per relevant standards and regulations - Analyze and interpret test data to support design decision-making and regulatory submissions - Author technical reports, present findings, and contribute to intellectual property development Requirements: - Ph.D. in Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field - 5+ years of experience in R&D for medical devices or combination products - Strong background in materials science, surface science, and biocompatibility testing - Expertise in characterization techniques such as microscopy, spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and mechanical testing - Hands-on experience with design of experiments, statistical analysis, and data interpretation - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work effectively in a team and across functions
