About the role
Forterra is actively looking for an experienced machine learning engineer to join our perception team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge perception solutions for autonomous systems working with heterogeneous sensors to tackle both structured on-road mobility and unstructured off-road mobility. The ideal candidate should possess a robust skill set, particularly in crafting high performance machine learning models and maintaining those models through real-world deployment life cycles.
What you'll do
Work cross functionally to support the exploration and development of new state-of-the-art perception models
Support on-going model lifecycle developments
Maintain and improve our existing model training, testing and deployment infrastructure
Required Qualifications
Strong programming experience in Python
Experience developing modern machine learning algorithms for perception tasks
Experience with developing and maintaining machine learning models in real world environments
Experience with containerization tools
Strong experience working on a software development team
Ability to write clean, maintainable code and documentation
Preferred Qualifications
Background in cloud infrastructure and AWS in particular
Experience with NVIDIA Jetson family of devices
Experience with modern data workflow management frameworks like apache airflow, argo, or metaflow
Experience with machine learning frameworks like pytorch
Experience in production robotics is a plus
Education
BS in computer science or a related field, or equivalent amount of relevant industry experience
3+ years of industry experience.
