JOB TITLE: District Leader in Me Coach

POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
The District Leader in Me (LiM) Coach provides leadership and support for the implementation of the Leader in Me framework across the district. This role works collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and staff to promote student leadership, positive school culture, and social-emotional learning. The LiM Coach supports schools in implementing leadership practices that foster student responsibility, engagement, and a positive learning environment. The LiM Coach assists in achieving district and building goals related to the three pillars of Leader in Me: Leadership, Academics, and Culture.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The District Leader in Me Coach shall hold a valid Missouri educator certificate (teacher, counselor, psychological examiner, etc.) and have a proven record of effectiveness in supporting student learning, leadership, and/or social-emotional development. Advanced degrees, certifications, and leadership experience and training preferred but not required. The LiM Coach will have a deep understanding of the tenets of the Leader in Me framework and concepts, as well as those of the 4 Disciplines of Execution. Other requirements as deemed acceptable by the Board of Education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the implementation of the Leader in Me framework across district schools.

Work with school principals and leadership teams to ensure the effective use of student advisory/Leadership time in conjunction with MTSS initiatives.

Assist buildings and departments in analyzing assessment and survey data to inform practice related to improved school outcomes.

Provide support for building-level Leader in Me coaches/Lighthouse Team Coordinators. Serve as building-level coach as assigned.

Work collaboratively with building administrators and leadership teams to strengthen school culture and student leadership opportunities.

Assist schools in implementing the 7 Habits and leadership practices within classrooms and school-wide initiatives.

Provide resources, consultation, and support to staff related to Leader in Me practices.

Support schools in developing leadership opportunities for students through Lighthouse Teams, student leadership roles, and school initiatives.

Plan and facilitate professional learning opportunities related to Leader in Me and leadership development.

Assist schools in monitoring progress toward Leader in Me implementation goals.

Support the development of practices that promote positive school culture, student engagement, and social-emotional learning.

Collaborate with district departments and buildings to align leadership and culture initiatives with district goals.

Support schools in preparing for Leader in Me implementation milestones and recognition opportunities.

Confer regularly with the Special Services Department and Curriculum and Instruction Department regarding district initiatives related to leadership development and school culture.

Attend professional development related to Leader in Me and leadership practices.

Coordinate, plan, and lead District Lighthouse Team meetings to facilitate positive alignment and outcomes related to District goals.

Work collaboratively with all other curriculum coordinators and teachers to integrate Leader in Me skills and concepts into the curriculum development process and instructional design.

Coordinate and support the first days of school at the elementary level, ensuring alignment with Leader in Me, school-wide expectations, and social-emotional learning. Collaborate with building leaders to establish consistent routines, teach expectations, and promote a positive, leadership-focused culture from the start of the year.

Coordinate with building Lighthouse Coordinators to ensure alignment and calibration across the district, including monitoring completion of required trainings and supporting accountability measures.

Maintain direct communication and ongoing collaboration with the FranklinCovey team to support effective implementation of Leader in Me practices and access to resources.

Conduct a minimum of two one-on-one meetings annually with each building Lighthouse Coordinator, along with facilitating regularly scheduled team meetings to proactively identify needs, address gaps, and support continuous improvement.

Ability to maintain highly confidential information; communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and/or ability to reason and make appropriate decisions. Solve a variety of problems in many different situations and have strong attention to detail.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position an employee is regularly required to sit, talk, present, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, reach, bend, and lift. Close vision ability to look at a computer screen for long periods of time is required. The LiM coach will be required to travel throughout the District to attend meetings in addition to throughout the region and state for meetings or trainings as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Teacher Contract plus additional days as approved by supervisor.

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
